"I though the whole program was well rehearsed and the pups were worked very hard, most very young puppies are very playfull and sometimes will do good one day and then the next 2 days they are very hard to handle, most people work long days and then go home and try these tips (not many) in the dvd and will not have much luck, hire a trainer if possible or read a training book and work with that."

"I have had retrievers most of my life and seen lots of training videos, but the Retriever Fever series is by far the best I have seen. There is an excellent combination of dogs at different levels with mountains of detailed information in every DVD. The puppy tape is very well done, and helped me so much with everything from poddy training to going to the field and introducing guns to the simple advice on throwers in the field. My kids watch the tape over and over again. The Gun Dog tape was the best help when it came to force training and putting the obedience in real field situations. I have referred back to that tape dozens of times. I am now in the Advanced tape with my two dogs. Both are about a year and a half old and the envy of everyone that sees them. I have never had a dog even half as good as these two and never could have afforded a professional trainer to do what I have done. I would highly recommend all the Retriever Fever DVDs to anyone."

"I didn't really think that it gave me very much info about puppy training it just jumped ahead, when the puppy is 4 months old for me that was 2 months of the dogs life that I missed."

"In this video, which I own only because it is part of the set, Shawn Dustin takes you through the process of SELECTING A PUPPY. The video is NOT limited to sit, as stated by Mr. "Not Worth It" below but gives a first time dog buyer invaluable information. Did I need it, no. Have I watched it, YES.
I have owned dogs my entire life and I did know a great deal of what was presented in this video, but I recomended it and the series to all my puppy buyers (Yes I breed labs).
If you get the series, you will be able to reduce your "Professional training time" or eliminate it if you chose to do so. If you do need a trainer, I again have to say Shawn trains the best dogs I have ever shot over. I am fortunate that he bred and force fetched my stud.
Bck to the video, it will teach you what you need for a pup (Equipment), how to go about getting a pup, and it will prevent you from making some really silly little mistakes that can ruin a dog.
Not only can I say I recommend it to a friend, I give a discount to anyone showing up to buy a pup from me with the series of videos. They are that good. Get the series."

"I didn't think once i got this tape and watched it that it was even close to worht the $30. It basicly tells you that you need to teach your dog to sit and alot of the basic things that you can figure out with common sense."
