Meostar Binoculars represent the ideal blend of high-performance European optics with optical quality and an affordable price. At the heart of these innovative new binoculars are the MB-550 lenses that have been treated with a multi layer, ion-assisted anti-reflective coating to improve light transmission to an astounding 99.8% per glass surface. The result is optical clarity typically associated with binoculars costing significantly more. These roof-prism binoculars have been coated for phase correction to guarantee superior clarity and color definition. The streamlined, ergonomic design makes them comfortable enough to glass all day long. For a lifetime of use, the frames are constructed of a solid aluminum alloy coated with a rugged rubber armor. Convenient screw-in eyecups accommodate eyeglass wearers. Single oversized center focus wheel has a built-in diopter for fast single-finger adjustment.

In the same class as the big 3., September 1, 2009
    By forwhatitsworth

"I bought these as an upgrade to my nikon monarchs. I had the dollars and was prepared to purchase one of the big 3. However, I had a hard time discerning any noticeable difference between these and the swaros, leicas and zeiss of the same magnification. I am sure that the trained eye might be able to find some minute differences, but I couldn't. After carefully comparing I couldn't justify the cost difference in these and the big three.

As compared to the nikons they are decidedly brighter. They also have a distinct advantage in clarity particularly out to the edges of the field of view.

The only disadvantage of these binos is, they are heavy.

I am very happy with my purchase and sure you will be too.

    Meopta 8x42, July 17, 2009
    By 25chemdog

"I hunt deer from stands and blinds in the Midwest and had been looking at new binos for a couple of years. I looked at the $1800 glass but could not justify the $$. Tried the Meopta's and was pleasantly impressed. You will find the 8x has an outstanding FOV at 411'. The 8x42's are steady, comfortable, and well balanced in your hands. When you pick up these binos you can feel that they are well-made and durable. Low light performance is good for an 8x42. Do yourself a favor and buy these and take the extra $$ and upgrade your bow at an archery pro shop or upgrade your riflescope rather than forking out more $$ for your binos. My only issue is the objective lenscovers do not stay on. Meopta needs to re-design these."

    Twilight Zone, June 24, 2009
By Pluggershikari from Aussie hunter victoria

"I am an aussie sambar deer hunter in the eucalypt forest in north east victoria. I purchased a meopta bino to use in low light conditions. Spent a few hours field testing on kangaroos
that were invisible to the eye and barely a unidentifiable blob through my Leupold rifle scope.
Images through dense foliage excellent and quality of clarity a pleasant surprise indeed. These are now my main weapon in locating game and i recommend them highly particularly with there price tag.

SO CLEAR IT SEEMS LIKE NIGHT VISION, December 15, 2008
    By jockdoc from Scottsdale, AZ

"THESE BINOS ARE UNBELIEVABLE. AFTER BUYING THEM, I WENT OUTSIDE AT DUSK AND SAW MY 6 YEAR OLD SON PLAYING ABOUT 70 YARDS AWAY. WITH THE NAKED EYE I WAS ABLE TO BARELY SEE HIS SHADOW, BUT THROUGH THESE MEOPTA BINOS I COULD SEE EVERY DETAIL OF HIS DARK SHIRT, PANTS, ETC. TRULY AMAZING. I USED THEM ON A SUCCESSFUL ELK HUNT HERE IN ARIZONA LAST WEEK, AND COULD SEE CLEARLY EVEN WITH VERY LITTLE LIGHT. I COMPARED THEM TO SWAROVSKI EL'S A FRIEND HAS, AND THEY ARE JUST A LITTLE BIT LESS AMAZING, BUT I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THESE. THE ONLY DRAWBACK ARE THE STUPID LENS COVERS. THEY ARE A POOR DESIGN, AND I HAVE ALREADY LOST ONE OF THEM."

"I'll tell you what, I never really heard of these until I read the reviews on this website, I went to the Cabelas store in Hamburg Pa, and checked these out. I now own a pair, they are unbelievable. The clarity is unreal. If you can afford the extra money buy these you will not be dissapointed. They put the Nikon ATB o shame."

What a pair of binos, July 24, 2008
By tomflh96 from Newport Rhode Island

"The clarity of these glasses in low light conditions is amazing. Truly the light gathering you would expect in high end glasses at a much greater cost. I would recoomend these to any sportsman as TOP OF THE LINE!"

Meopta 10x50 Great Glass for the money!, January 8, 2008
    By elkchsr from Shepherd, MT

"I am an avid hunter and like most of us work hard for my money. I own several pairs of binoculars - Leica Trinovids 8x42, Minox 8x40, Pentax 10x42 to name a few. I hunt everything from elk, deer, antelope, bear, coyotes etc... to turkeys and upland birds. I bought the Leicas a few years back and love them but a friend of mine has a pair of Swaro's 10x42 and that additional 2x is nice especially for some of my deer, bear and antelope glassing spots. I wanted the 10 pwr but could not justify the Swaro's/Leicas price!!!$$$!!! So I read reviews, talked to fellow hunters and actually called shops that specialize in strictly optics. I then decided to buy the Meoptas and quite frankly as hard as my friend with the Swaros trys to say well they are very close in performance I can tell you looking through both in the evening you are splitting hairs! If you want a high quality European pair of glass and don't want to break the bank take a long hard look at Meopta! Are they betterr than the Swaros or my Leicas? No but they are darn close!!! So close in fact I'm glad I did not fork out an additional $800.00 to $900.00 for the Leicas or Swaros!!!"

    8x42 Meopta Meostar, July 28, 2007
    By FrankD from Allentown, PA

"I have owned these binoculars for close to a year now and they are, undoubtedly, the most well rounded 8x42s I have owned. They are entirely comparable with the high end Zeiss, Swarovski and Leica models in terms of image quality and only the Leica Trinovids rival them for durability. The 8x42 model boasts a tremendous 411 foot field of view. That beats all of the other European glasses for that configuration. The image is not only wide but also sports a very large sweet spot in terms of in-focus image. It literally reaches to almost the edges of the field of view. Color rendition is very accurate with an ever so slight yellow color bias under certain extreme conditions. Brightness levels are outstanding. In a German binocular test they rated somewhere around 86% for light transmission beating out the Swarovski SLC and Leica Trinovid. Only the Leica Ultravid (87%) and Zeiss FL (93%) had higher brightness ratings. Handling and focus control are excellent as is their level of eye relief.

I can see why Cabelas decided to team up with Meopta to produce their "Euro" bins. I only wish they would include the 8x42 model as it truly is better than both the 10x42 and 12x50. The 10x50 Meopta is another model really worth considering if you are looking for higher magnification and an exceptionally bright image.
