"I am a fan of good assisted knives costing less than $100 and have several of them by Kershaw (Ken Onion), CRKT, SOG, Buck and now Gerber. I bought this knife just for kicks and it is now my M-F EDC! Here's why:
* Razor sharp out of the box.
* Holds its edge.
* Very fast assisted opener, with thumb or flicker release.
* Nice appearing (sweet!).
* The thumb release is easy on your thumb (unlike my Blur).
* Nice lock and lock location.
* Nice size for casual or dress.
* Nice handle, solid feel, good grip and right size.
* Clicks when closed - too cool!
* No blade wobble - solid feel.
* Good value.
You can't beat this knife for the money! Sure, I have "better" knives, but this is the best value for the dollar. If I lose it I will just buy another one and not be broke."

"Overall very good for a pocket knife. The FAST system does not work as well as you would expect from Gerber. The safety switch and FAST spring need LOTS of breaking in. And even after 2 months the safety switch remains sticky.
The serrated blade holds a good sharp edge. The pocket works well and keeps me from ever loosing it."

"The knife does not work as advertised . It takes two hands to open it . I tried the Fast Covert knife first .It did not work . Sent it back and tried Fast Draw . Neither work . Someone from corporate should go to the warehouse and take one out the box and try it"

"As with most Gerber products, this is a quality item. The blade is wicked sharp from the mfg. The opening assist works well, makes it a true one-handed knife. I got the smaller version, which is a little harder to start with old, sore thumbs, but even for me, it works well.
If you're holding on to a ladder, or a tree, etc., you can use your knife without losing your grip, especially useful for treestand hunters.
I have been dealing with Cabela's for about 2o years, and have never been disappointed with quality, service, or guarantees. they're a first class outfit!"

"I WAS EMBARRASSED WHEN I WENT TO GIVE A CLOSE FRIEND ONE OF THESE F.A.S.T. DRAW GERBER KNIVES. I BOUGHT TWO. BOTH PERFORMED POORLY WITH THE SLIDE TO RELEASE THE BLADE ACTING LIKE IT WAS GRINDING ON ITS SELF. IT DID NOT FEEL LIKE THE GERBER QUALITY I WAS USED TO. I RETURNED BOTH OF THEM."

"I just recieved this knife and I have had none of the problems opening knife that some reviews talked about. I can see maybe some problems if you get it a dirty so a little oil every now and then won't hurt. However right out of the box it will flip open just like it should. Good sharpness right out of the package as well. The clip on it is perfect for clipping in your pocket, which you will want to do because this knife will be a bit big for the average pocket. Good buy! I hope I don't lose because I bet it will last me for a while."
