"This kit immediately paid for itself as I bagged a decent six-pointer on the last day of buck season.
The bone saw was particularly helpful and the skinning knife really came in handy. Having the additional hand saw and hatchet is particularly useful in thick brush or when limbs are in your way. I put some latex gloves, kitchen string, and ziploc bags in the case, and had everything I needed to get my field dressing done quickly and efficiently.
Also, the case is conveniently small enough to fit in the back pocket of my blaze orange vest, so carrying it out to the stand with me was not a problem.
I would recommend this kit to anyone looking to outfit themselves with some quality field-dressing tools at a great price."

"Recently used the kit on a cow and bull elk 6 miles from camp. I was very satisfied on the completeness of the kit. With that said I agree its overkill for deer and after quartering two elk its also a bit much for them. The knife is very good and could be used for everything but cutting the lower legs. If you are willing to split them at the joint the entire quartering process could be done with the knife. This assumes you cut the quarter at the shoulder socket which is best in my opinion. For a first time the hatchet and saw is necessary, I never used the small bone saw. I could see it coming in handy if you were not quarter but rather planned on gutting and removing the entrails. I know I pointed out some of the negatives, but its important to note it has everything you could ever use. 4/5 since the saw has the potential to slide, I know this since I previously owned 2:)"

"I needed some new heavy duty field dressing tools. I thought this would be a good way to get a lot of the pieces that I would need without buying things individually. I was somewhat disappointed in the quality of the metal and also question who laid out the carrying case. I'm still trying to figure out what the one pouch is for since there is nothing in it and no instructions as to why it is there. The straps which hold the saw in place are marginal and the some of the other straps are not sized properly to hold the item they were intended to keep in the pocket. And the outside pocket with velcro is a mystery also. I have worked at honing the edges on the blades and the quality of the steel is marginal at best. I guess for the cost I should have suspected as much, the whole kit is the cost of one good knife. Bottom line is if you want real quality look else where and spend the dollars. If you are looking for an occasional kit this is not too bad."
