big game vertex blind and platform,
January 30, 2010
By eagleken

"a very stable platform. the optional quad pod extender is a must. The hub blind is very good quality and held up well while hunting in a strong wind. the only downside to blind is the loud zippers on the windows and it needs a shoot through screen option. the platform is large enough for two people with two chairs. Assembly of the platform was a little confusing in that the directions are minimal and printed from China. Its best to lay out everything on the ground before assembly and look at the diagram and go from there. It took two hours with two people for assembly. A drill driver with a socket is a must with all the bolts and nuts it requires."

Great Item,

"I really like this stand. I was afraid that the entry would be too small but I had no problems and I am 5'9" and weigh 210 lbs. I did put down some plastic and some carpet on the floor which helped keep the cold out. I also made a shooting rest on one side out of 1X3's and it works pretty good also. Yes the zippers are a little noisey but not a big deal. I have had to shut the zippers with deer 100 yds. away from me and they didn't spook at all. Fairly easy to put together. I haven't had a chance to use it in really cold weather but I am sure that it will cut the mustard. It is definitely worth money if you want to stay in your stand for a long period of time."

Very Comfortable,
October 7, 2009
By Granddaddy7

"The Big Game Vertex is very comfortable. It has room for my grandchildren and myself to sit for hours. To make it quiter moving around and stop updrafts, we used a piece of carpet pad for a floor. This seems to work very well. The construction seems to be very good and sturdy."

Great Platform and Blind,
October 1, 2009
By Buckhunter32
from Ohio

"The big game vertex blind and platform was easy to setup. It took me about an hour and a half to setup by myself. The zippers on the blind could be a little quieter. I also put a rubber mat down to block the wind and lessen the noise when I move around the platform."

Big Game Ventex Blind & Tower,
July 6, 2009
By Excursion1
from King George, VA
|
"Easy to follow instructions.
All parts packaged well and included.
Tower is sturdy and ample size.
Ladder is too small and access is difficult for a large person like myself.
Opening of 20" x 20" is small for a large person w/ bulky winter hunting clothes.
Fold up/slide ladder top handle works well.
I am adding a 3/4 plywood floor for stability, strength and quiet."

Vertex Blind,
January 11, 2009
By shortsleeves
|
"I feel the construction materials are light duty for the price. But more important, I feel there should be a safety rail on the platform, especially when the extender is add to it. Also, if you're a person of robust proportion, it won't be easy climbing through the trapdoor opening or getting to the ladder."

GREAT BLIND AND PRICE,
December 12, 2008
By SOUTHCENTRALKANSASHUNTER

"I was stewing about getting one of those big plastic box blinds and am sure glad I didn't. The plastic blinds look too noisy and stand out like a sore thumb and are much more expensive. First off the stand is very sturdy and I think the size of the door is perfect, I am 6'1" and 220 and have no problem with this door. The ladder on the other hand should definately be wider. People are right about putting something on the floor, I put down a heavy piece of carpet and it works great. Also like another reviewer I built a 2x4 shooting rest, great idea. The zippers are a bit noisy but I think that's the nature of the beast. I love the blind, it has windows everywhere and is very comfortable. You need to find a good chair or stool that is the right height for the windows and you are in business. I put the stand together, drug it out to where I wanted it, assembled the blind and tied a rope to the top, stood on the stand and hauled the blind up and tied it down, all by myself and was not hard. Have been sitting in this blind a lot over the last week or so and have had deer walk under the blind and all around me and have not been spotted yet. GREAT BLIND"

Platform excellent, blind stinks,
October 25, 2008
By averyhunter

"This is a great platform however, the blind shines like crazy when wet (think covered with dew EVERY morning). I purchased this blind two years ago and returned it after I had one deer headed my way with it's head down then, lift up it's head and imeadiatly turn tail and run at over 100 yards away. My solution and the reason for 5 stars is that I went to the store and bought just the platform. Since my blind is 5' x 5' I used two sheets of 5/8" thick plywood and a few pieces of hardware to expand it to 6' x 6'. As someone else has mentioned, the plywood floor makes it alot warmer. Living in MN, I need all the help I can get in that department."

"Love this blind! It is great for setting up anywhere and so comfortable. Easy enough for a new hunter/child or woman hunter to function and feel secure in. I will probably order a second one before this season is over. Easy to assemble. Very durable."

Great Blind,
September 9, 2008
By obsessivehunter
from US Army, Iraq
|
"I purchased this and brought it up to the cabin as soon as I got it and set it up. It is fairly easy to set up, but can be a little time consuming so deffinately think ahead of time if you are planning on hunting out of it. I set it up becasue I had read about it alot and the only complaint I heard was that the trap door was a little too small. I didnt think it was bad at all. It was a little tight but very manageable. If you are bringing it out somewhere to set up, save yourself some time and set up the platform and the stand ahead of time but keep them disassembled. That way you can just put those pieces together and stand it upright. The blind is very good also and I have yet to have any problems with the zippers or anything else. I took it into the woods at the cabin in MN and messed around with a fawn bleat with another buddy I hunt with. We had several Does come running right to the blind. We had all the windows open and it was fairly windy and we still went unnoticed. Over all, I am very happy with my purchase and would deffinately recommend it to anyone wanting a permanent set up. It is not an easy portable stand."

Good investment for the money,
January 7, 2008
By MikkiT

"Overall, I was satisfied with my purchase of this product. The construction is solid, but the size of the entrance trap door and ladder leading to it could have been bigger. Also, the assembly of this product was simple enough but leaves very little to be desired, as far as relocating the tower without total disassembly. Make sure to put in a location that it will stay. Once put together, it is a joy to hunt in; my son and I had no problem sitting for great lengths of time in this stand. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to introduce the joys of hunting to a young person, without having to worry about falling while entering or exiting the stand. The included blind is excellent for concealing movement and keeping you dry on rainy days."

great product,
September 10, 2007

"This is the best investment I have purchased for my hunting lease. I have hunted from a tripod stand for four years. The last couple of years in texas it has been cold in the winter months. I am looking forward to being warmer this year. This stand was very easy to assemble. I got the booster and the stand which goes ontop of the booster. It is rock hard and prevents the wind and rain from getting me wet and cold. The door is a little small but it works. I recommend this to any hunter wanting to hunt in comfort and style. The only thing wrong was during assembley one bolt did not fit propperly. It was to short for what its purpose was. I upgraded to a longer bolt."

"THE OTHER REVIEWS ARE RIGHT...VERY STURDY DEERSTAND. I WAS A LITTLE APPREHENSIVE WHEN I FIRST GOT THE STAND IN THE MAIL, BUT WHEN I PUT IT TOGETHER...TURNED OUT TO BE VERY STURDY, EASY STAND TO PUT UP. I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT UP BY MYSELF WITH NO PROBLEMS. WILL BUY ANOTHER ONE WITH NO HESITATION. VERY EXCITED TO USE THIS STAND IN THE FALL!!"

Great Product for the money,

"I was really happy about this blind. It is a great value for the money. It was easy to put together. The only downside was the cloth portion could have be put together better. The zippers have separated in a couple of places and one of the tiedowns have already ripper. Not bad considering I have 2 blinds I use every day and move them twice a week."

It's sure to become my favorite blind,

"My buddy and I each set up the Blind and platform as a trial run before this falls hunting season. We had no problems at all. It is so sturdy and easy to access. We just can't wait to use them. Just one thing I would recommend; Bring some pieces of pressure-treated wood to put under the feet if in a wet area."

Good choice in Vertex Blind Combo,
March 11, 2007
By whitebrow
from Birmingham, Al
|
"I found the Vertex blind a great alternative to a large heavy shooting house. The platform is rock steady and light enough that with a partner can be relocated without much hassle. The blind blends in well to the clear cut that I have it set up in and surprisingly steady in wind gusts over 35mph. By opening only two windows you can control the wind/scent while remaining hidden. To make this blind complete I've attached a tarp lining underneath to block the wind and improve scent control. Also, I built a 2x4 shooting rail up to the bottom of the windows to steady long shots at over 300 yards. The bottom line is with some additions costing about $25 the blind is ideal and has become my personal favorite. This year I've shot two deer from the blind and had several cross within 25 yards without scenting or seeing me. Plan on buying two more!"
