"I have found this to be helpful for training our 8 month old boxer. My only complaint is the remote 6v batteries only lasted bout 6 weeks and cost about $10.00 to place both. I wish these were rechargable also."

"I purchased this collar from Cabela´s trough the web and it was in my door 6 days after from my order. I think thatl Innotek has done an excellent and reliable product. Firstly, I charged the reciever, inserted the batteries in the transmitter, and then, putting the collar on, by contacting the red dots of both( transmiter and reciever), the collar is ready to attach to the dogs neck. My dog is a jagd terrier weigthing no more than 5k. Dog was one year old before y ordered the collar. We trained the basic orders with the dog a few monts before usig the collar, so, we were sure that the dog knews exactly the meaning of each order( basicly are: down, come here, and dog´s name). My problem was that the dog did not obey the order "come here", was very aggressive and jaleous with other dogs, and she used to destroy objects. The collar is a great aid with all of this problems, now I have a tool that really works with all of them. I suggest to start the training with the collar in a close place like the backyard, and with no distractions. Lately, is possible to essay the training in open field, without vegetation. In a clean and open field, not hilly, you have everytime a view of your dog, and, if you have to use the collar, there is no possibility for the dog to relate the negative correction of the collar impulse, with someting else like vegetation etc. So, you can be sure that your dog does not get afraid from the field itself. Sometimes, I have to use high stimules to stop the dog, because I dont want more than 30 meters between the dog and me when hunting, and this objetive is really difficult to achieve when the dog has the smell of a rabbit or a hare before her nose."

"Collar works great with incredible range also very durable and enough levels to train the most stubborn of dogs. The added benefit of a tone is excellent to have, for now most of the time (which is a lot less now) we only have to use the tone to get the correct response from our dog. The only problem we have is the need of another battery that could be used in a pinch to activate the collar when the other battery drains however the battery life is very well about three full days before it has to be charged again, I guess with having the benefit of cost reduction with a rechargeable unit you give up the ability to use at a moments notice. Worth the sacrifice for cost of batteries. But with today's techno I'm sure something could be done. (hint hint Cabela's)"

"I got this product to help train a very smart but very stubborn yellow lab. The dog would not respond to the "come here" command and, when called, would head in the other direction, often ending up more than a mile from home. I've met some very nice neighbors because of this dog. I think the "tone" feature of this product is very useful. I always used the tone before I used the shock feature and now I almost never need to use more than the tone. He knows what will follow if he ignores the beep. The range is good and the battery stays charged for several days. Good product."

"We were having a little problem with our Australian Sheperd busting loose when she would see any cat, which is OK with me, but almost all the time they would be on the other side of our street. Not wanting her to get flattened by one of our neighbors vehicles, we tried this collar. Within about a week she is responding much better to our commands. Make sure you watch the tutorial CD, it is an eye opener and was extremely helpful getting us (the humans) back on track."

THICK HAIR PROBES BETTER THAN LONG HAIR PROBES,July 13, 2007

"When I purchased this collar I was told that the long hair probes would be suitable for my black lab but when I used the collar on the dog she could feel the correction at 2 but then sometimes I had to take it to 9 before she felt the correction. Since the level of correction was so inconsistant we immediately discovered that the long hair probes were not working on my lab. I purchased a set of THICK HAIR probes and now the collar works beautifully. There is a distinct difference between long hair and thick hair probes. The thick hair probes are more pointed at the tip allowing them to slide through the hair allowing the probes to have constant contact on the dog. They are inexpensive and are readily availabe on the internet by doing a search for THICK HAIR PROBES."

"I have had similar problems with my ADV-1000. The first collar had to be replaced by Innotek. It screwed up the dog for a little while as the correction wasn't consisitently being delivered by the collar. Sometimes, it would give little to no stimulation, and other times it would blast her. The second collar works better, however I've found her fur and skin need to be wet even with trimmed hair, or the hair insulates against the collar."

"I purchaced this product for my dog to help in this chukar season. This product worked well during training, but did not perform well in the field. The colar would work for a half an hour or so. Then for no reason it would quit working for rest of the trip. The colar battery and the remote battery are fine and fully charged. The only way to get the product to work again is to plug the colar back into the charger for a second, unplug it and then press the remote. Then you think it is fine. You take it back into the field and the colar quits working again. The colar and the remote has some type of built in syncronizing device, where you put the colar and remote together and it beeps then they are supose to be syncronized. It beeps but still does not work. I have to send mine back to the manufacture. Hopfully mine has some kind of weird defect."

"This is a great product. The Battery life is great. My English Springer Spanial has become much more attentive to commands. Its a great traing tool to go with a complrehensive training program. It's definatly waterproof both the collar and the transmitter. I've got it set on a fairly low setting so that I would expect it to work on almost any dog. Even when she is well out of sight a couple of blows on my whistle and a momentary push of the button on the transmitter lets my dog know she needs to circle back. Both the collar and the transmitter are a good size for even smaller dogs."
