Good but not without small annoyances,

"Overall the slicer works great. Just a few small things:
1. Holding the switch while pressing the button can be a pain especially if you are slicing alot of meat at one time. I am sure I will eventually get used to it though.
2. The tray is too small to catch a whole lot of meat without being changed. I just substituted a large dish to catch the slicings.
Otherwise it works great and is a great deal for the price."

"I bought it for making jerky. The tray is too small to hold a large piece of meat ( 7 pounds ). The safety button has to be held down which makes it very difficult to use."

Great slicer for a small price,

"Honestly, the price was the first thing that got my attention. The thought "you get what you pay for" came to mind. Fortunately, this time I got more than I paid for. The slicer is a great deal for us. I put it to work as soon as it got here. It sliced up a whole ham as thin or thick as we liked. Two things... You have to get used to the safety feature on-switch and cleaning is a bit of a pain because of a couple of tight spaces to work with but all in all a great slicer. Also, it's a good size, not too bulky for a regular kitchen counter space. I love it."

"Fantastic. Fully as good as advertised. Not hard to clean but one must take care to wipe out the cracks and hiding places for meat scraps.
We are buying cheaper cuts of meat, in bulk, cooking to our taste, and enjoying flavorful sandwiches afterwards. Also ideal for Mom who is having difficulty with tough meats, sliced thinly, she is enjoying these foods."

"Used this machine to slice 1/4" venison jerky pieces. Once I became accustomed to the on and off safety features, the slicer worked like a charm. Recommend that you make your slices when the venison is partially frozen. Great product for the money!"

"This was a Christmas gift for my father. It was bought for processing deer but my father opened the box Christmas morning, wiped everything down and put it to work on a ham that my mother had just baked. I know Cabelas has very good products but, I was amazed at how easy this slicer made short work of the ham in a total of only 2 min. This product would have easily got a 5 star review had it not have been for the on and off switch that you have to keep pressed in the on position to operate. If you have someone else hold the switch in the on position then it's no problem. If the switch was changed I would give it a 10 star review."

"Doing buffalo jerky...makes thin, uniform slices. Ham at Christmas was as thin as we wanted. A bit of a chore to clean, but the price is right! Gotta be smarter than the switch(s) tho'...good safety feature for home use!"

"I had to return the slicer, as it would not cut thin slices; nor will it consistently cut any thickness slices as the slice thickness adjustment will move during use.
This was a great disappointment to me, as everything I have purchased from Cabela's for the past many years, have been absolutely great!"
