Cabela's WindShear Trek-Tech,March 15, 2010
By Alagnak
"Unlike even the heaviest fleece product, this wool sweater lined with WindShear kept the bitterest of cold winter winds out. It's a great product at an excellent price and one I wore just about every day this past winter; however, don't make the mistake of throwing it in the dryer like I did with my first one. Will shrink several sizes. Also the zipper will occasionally catch on and yank your whiskers. Other than that, I plan on buying another one of these sweaters for next year."
"Anyone who ice fishes or sits in a frigid deer blind will appreciate this sweater as a part of the layering process. It has a wind blocking liner which isn't noisy to game, it's heavy wool and warm, and it looks good enough to wear out on the town. Follow cleaning instructions."
Very warm and comfortable,January 25, 2010
By Gadwidgeonfrom Fayetteville, AR
"This pullover is very very warm and very comfortable. I would recommend buying a size bigger than you would normally. I usually wear a large but I could easily wear an XL in this item, also do not dry this or it will shrink. The sweater itself seems very well made. Only real downside is that the windproofing material is a littlle noisy when you move, but this isn't a big deal unless you are bow hunting. I would recommend this to anyone. I will probably buy another this year just in a larger size."
replacement sweater,January 24, 2010
By PolicyPeddlerfrom Upstate NY
"i have bought several of these sweaters in the past for family and friends. We like them very much, I am disappointed with the newer ones as they are not as heavy, thick and warm as the original "wind-stopper" ones made in the Philippines. As a result i rate them as 4 star rather than 5. I would prefer to pay more for the original weight sweaters."
Wyoming Winds,January 18, 2010
By LemaOnefrom Sterling, CO
"I purchased a Cabela's WindShear Trek-Tech Wool sweater while on my way to Wyoming for the Holidays. I wore it both as an outer layer and as a sweater over a shirt. In the winds of Northwestern Wyoming I was greatly surprised at its warmth. Its stylish appearance also brought questions of where I bought it. I was pleased to tell them."
Windshear Sweater,January 5, 2010
By DKNSfrom Dublin, Ireland
"I first bought your "Rainforest" coat in November and was so delighted, with the coat and the service, I revisited your site. I then bought the Windshear which is brilliant so I just had to get a second one. all three products are very warm and stylish and your service and delivery is excellent."

"I have purchased several of these sweaters for my son, son-in-law, and husband. They all really like these garments! Thanks for including new available colors. We have encouraged other people to purchase these lightweight, warm sweaters!"
real good,October 7, 2009
By chantanfrom South Dakota
"I have had 3 of these in the past. They are all I wear on late season hunts in South Dakota. A thermal shirt and this is all you need. They do a great job of blocking the wind/cold without the bulk of a big parka. Great for upland hunting and nice enough for the office. I did like the brand that Cabelas use to offer, windstopper. That seemed to breathe better than Cabelas "windsheer". Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Hand wash or it will fit your dog. Jerry B."
Possible Improvements,February 24, 2009
By Captsal17from Long Island, NY
"I wish I was smart enough to improve this sweater, not possible. Just came in from a two mile walk; temperature 28f, gusting winds, sunny. I wore this sweater with just a cotton tee shirt under it and jeans. My chest and arms were comfortable warm, protected from the wind by the polyester wind shear lining, and perfectly balanced with my level of activity. This is just a perfect sweater, and believe me I've owned the best homemade and store bought wool sweaters available. The short zipper allows for just the right amount of ventilation if overheating while protecting the neck in really colder temps. light my walk today. This is a keeper."
Fits Great and Toasty Warm,December 30, 2008
By ButtermilkBiscuits
"I originally purchased this in one of your stores and came back to buy two more. The wool is very warm yet because of the lining not scratchy at all. This top layered over a turtleneck alleviates the need for a big coat on so many days.

Great outdoor wear,February 21, 2008

Warm, slightly noisy,February 20, 2008
By Anonymousfrom Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania
"I love my WindShear. It's warm, I've been wearing it as an outer layer throughout the cold Northern Pennsylvania winter. Two minor drawbacks -- the WindShear lining is a little bit noisy when you move, and when they say to have it dry-cleaned they mean it. I washed mine on the gentle cycle and it shrunk just a tad and pilled up a bit. That's what I get for not following the directions."
