Cabalas 5 MM Neostreach hip waders,October 15, 2009
By MiriasClonefrom Hampden, Maine but gun in Downeast Maine.
"After receiving the hips in the mail I gave them a workout on 4 gunning trips on the salt marshes of downeast Maine. The hips are everything you say thay are. I am very pleased. The Neostreach is flexable and very comfortable. Not like the majority of rubber hip boots that can be stiff and difficult to 'fold down.' Advice and rating from others is very good, especially when it comes to foot size. Example: If you are a natural size 9 them order a 9 size boot (all boots seem to be about a 1 /2 to a full size larger) it's not really necessary to order a 1/2 to a full size larger ... it would be too big. I am a 9 1/2 shoe size and I ordered a size 10 boot sizes (come in even numbers, like 9, 10, 11 etc) and they fit like a glove. No need for the extra size to add a couple of extra socks. The insulated boot, using one pair of socks, is all that is needed. It's a great value and I expect to enjoy them for years to come."

Good but not Excellent.,June 8, 2009
By ArtCfrom North Stonington, CT
"I really like these waders but they do have a few drawbacks. I've had my pair for three years now and they have survived quite nicely. A few drawbacks that I have noticed: I did't have a store nearby when I bought them so the size was a guess at best. I'm a size 9-1/2 so I ordered a 10. I should have ordered a 9. They seem to be about one size larger than they are listed. Even tho they fit kind of loose they are a real comfort to walk long distances in. My most recent fishing trip I wore them every day all day for five days. The seam where the Neoprene and the rubber boot meet protrudes inward and managed to abrade away some skin on my leg. Bout the size of a silver dollar, was starting to get infected by the end of the day. First time that's happened tho. When the waders fill with water the neoprene material takes four days of wearing them every day to get them half way dry. I sliped on some slick rocks and filled one up this last trip. I had electricity so I used a small space heater to dry them out overnight. Don't put them too close to the heater. That's another thing! These waders are like iceskates on slippery rocks. Places where you should be wearing felt - you don't want to go in these waders. One last thing: The nylon that covers the neoprene is very durable. Mine have been poked with sharp sticks a few times where I was sure they were pierced but they sustained zero damage. If it wer'nt for that wearing a hole in my leg thing they would be five star waders."

5mm Neostretch Hip waders,June 3, 2008
By bartman427
"I would highly recommend these waders to anyone looking for a similar product. They were supremely comfortable, easy to get on and off, and kept me bone dry. They did run a little large as I usually wear a size ten, and the size ten in the waders left ample room for my feet. The only drawbacks are they are meant for cold weather. Even minor treks down streams in the cool Minnesota May weather left my legs sweaty."

Hip Boot,May 31, 2008
By ED12134from Minot, Me
"Just came back from Alaska on a seccessful Brown Bear hunt. These hip boots saw all possible variations of weather. From some limited sun, to hail, to seeing your breath cold. Used these waders to trek through old growth forest, rocky shoreline, forge streams, and tidal marshes. They never leaked or failed in any way. The sea weed covered rocks were very sloppery though and I fell a few times."

Cabelas 5mm Neostretch Hip Waders,February 20, 2008
By Olivia88from Mansfield, Ohio
"I tried other hip boots in the same price range with similiar features and these are the best bang for the buck. The primary difference with these boots are the way the top of the boot is welded to the neoprene - the seam is very strong and totally waterproof. It is a much better bond than other boots and I've nad no problem with them leaking."

The Perfect Wader,January 7, 2008
By Lucky1duckhunterfrom Ohio
"If you are looking for a great pair of waders look no farther. I have had many waders over the years. Hip, full size, light weight to heavy weight felt lined. These waders can do it all. I used them to fish the cold waters of the Ohio River Hybird fishing days after they arrived. I used them for duck hunting also this year . The 800 grains works great in cold water for fishing and super cold weather for ducks in Ohio. The are very confortable to wear and roll up and down very easy. They slide off better than any other boot I have worn. Thanks for making a good product at a reasonable price."

I've used a lot of waders!,September 18, 2007
By Anonymousfrom Rockford, MI
"In my years of hunting, wading through swamps, and working in the lake on the dock and boat lifts I never seemed to find a set of waders that could keep me dry and that fit well. When I got my Cabela's hip waders this summer I got to use them right away to pull out a jet ski lift. I was in the water for about 2 hours without a leak. The fit is very good too. I'm very happy with these waders and I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a dry, comfortable set."

By NZhunterfrom New Zealand
"Waders perform as should, no leaks, comfortable on and getting off, wide boot for good stability in mud. I stand 6'4" and found that these waders are not a true hip wader more of a thigh wader, regardless I am happy with product and purchase."

Kudos for neoprene hip waders.,November 24, 2006
By CMDRYeagerfrom Soquel, CA
"I made the switch to neoprene hip boots last season after opening weekend when the foot on one of my traditional rubber hip boots filled with water. I had been using rubber hip boots for close to forty years. We have to hike about a half mile over tilled ground to the blind. The neoprene hip boots are comfortable to walk in and provide good ankle support. The lug sole gives good traction on our slippery levee and they are noticeably quieter. Neoprene is an excellent insulater, they kept my legs warm and dry even on cold, rainy and windy "duck weather" days. I bought another pair this year for my son who had been eyeing mine with envy."
