Quiet & Warm,

"I wore these pants this on our first cold weekend of the year and I was very happy with them. Everyone knows how hard it is to get outside on the first COLD weekend of the year. Your body isn't used to it and that makes it seem even colder. I was VERY impressed at how well these pants kept me warm. Even in the wind. I opted not for the windshear only because of the extra noise they make."

"if warm and quiet are what you want these fill the bill. i also have the pants with windshear. i prefer the unlined myself as they seem to have more freedom of movement."

"I would give them one more star if is wasn't for the extra tight belt loops and I have not given them a good workout as yet. I purchased them for a November Elk hunt and right now it's only july and close to 95 degrees. They do seem to be well made and I will prabably buy another pair prior to November."

Wooltimate Pants,

"The cargo type pockets make it difficult to walk through thick bush, they also restrick walking ability on days of walking long distances (12 to 16 miles/day) I will be wearing them under these conditions for elk hunting. So I will put nothing in these cargo pockets and, if I can cut them off without making a mess, I will.
The side pockets could be a bit deeper though and a button or zipper on these would be good.
I am looking forward to wearing these as I think they will still be great, but probaly won't get to wear them before mid Sept."

"These pants are warm and durable. I have been using them in NW alaska with temps well below zero and still comfortable. They are not waterproof and if you kneel or sit in snow you will get damp, but over all a good quality product and worth the money"

"Bought a pair before Christmas, good quality - nice and warm! BUT - Why are the belt loops so narrow?? I have to wear my narrow dress-belt if I want to carry a knife, m/tool or anything for that matter!!
For the money you pay for them - you would expect them to have thought about it more!! Men wear belts - ergo mens trousers should have proper belt loops???"

"So far so good I have used them about a month hunting in them several times. They are softer than most wool and you
don't have to use long under wear, this is important in Texas.
Got blood on them and they washed up nice line dried them."

Dissapointing hunt- excellant gear,

"I bought these pants for a huntin trip in Idaho, the weather was cold and was either snowing or raining, while not waterproof these pants kept me more than warm enough, even when they were wet. They do have a downside though, when worn under a waterproof outerlayer, it almost caused me to overheat.
The one real drawback is that the belt loops need to be bigger, I had to buy suspenders to keep the pants up and was unable to wear my usual sidearm because I couldn't wear a belt. I also noticed the inner crotch seam on the liner started to come undone. this was easily fixed with some thread.
In general a great mid/late season pant, they helped turn a poor hunting trip into an excellant camping trip."

"THE WOOLTIMATE PANTS ARE A GREAT ALL AROUND PANT TO HUNT IN. MINE DID NOT HAVE THE WIND SHEAR LINING, WHICH I FELT LIGHTENED THEM. THEY WERE EXTREMELY QUIET, WERE NOT TOO HOT FOR ACTIVE HUNTING, BUT WERE QUITE WARM WHEN THE CHILL FACTOR DROPPED."

"These pants are excellent for use in the snow. As part of a Search and Rescue trianing exercise I spent three days in the snow receiving snowmobile training, snow shoeing and training on avalanche awarness. I spent two nights in a snow cave as part of the training. At no time did I get wet or was I cold. The pants keep me completely dry the entire three days, even while building our snow cave which required getting down on the snow on my knees and may times actually laying on the snow. I would highly recommend these pants to anyone that has to deal with snow. They are very comfortable, warm and keeps you completely dry."

"These pants are warm. But the wind will blow through them. I bought them for hunting but I have been wearing them for cross county skiing. Have been skiing at -10° F with just a light pair of long underwear for a base layer under the pants and never did get cold unless it was real windy."

"As a New Hampshire native I've always known that quality in outdoor clothing can not be compromised with our winters.
I Purchased a pair of Cabela's Outfitter's Wooltimate Pants for my wife for Christmas, and I got a pair for myself as well :-) We have put them to the test, atving in the wet snow, ice fishing in the the wind at -20f and winter camping in a snow tent.
We have found these pants to be far superior to ANY wool pant we have ever worn. Cabela's buyers should be commended for their choices in what you carry. If there were six stars we would have given the Wooltimate Pants that rating.
Thanks for keeping us warm and dry in New Hampshre!

"These pants were purchased for warmth and quietness. They have became a favorite piece of gear because they are as quiet as a cashmere sweater and warm as comparable insulated pants. They do not build up heat and moisture and are great for stand or stalk hunting. If they were ever lost I'd replace them quickly. I wear these pants from 20-50F without any liners and they will be part of the gear for any western or northern trip. The best feature of all however is you can wash and dry these pants like they were cotton and with no problems!!"

Wooltimate ... just the ticket!,

"I have tried several different items for cold weather hunting. I was looking for something light, washable and that was warm. I spend a lot of time hiking and glassing in unpredicable weather trying to find the perfect trophy. These Wooltimate products were the ticket. Rain, sleet, snow and wind ... I was snug as a bug in a rug. The Wooltimate was not extemely heavy when soaking wet and what a blessing when I got home ... I put them in the wash. Just an awesome product! Thanks again Cabelas! Your number one!"
