"Used it today on a deer hunt in the interior of British Columbia. With the windchill factor it was probably -10C. This jacket kept my uppper torso warm while I spent twenty minutes or so stationary hoping to get a shot. Would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a warm wool jacket for cold hunts. Have gotten a few comments on how well it looks at well. Also comes with many pockets."

"wears good, protects against wind and pretty warm but i have to wear it as a undergarment here in the rockies above 7000 ft. the fuzz is shedding a little and the zipper is small and not robust- i just wonder how long it will last?"

"I ordered the Cabela's Outfitter's Wooltimate Windshear Jacket a few weeks before my elk/mule deer hunt this year in Northern Colorado. I was very impressed with the workmanship and quality of material. The size charts are normally 'johnny on the spot' (I normally wear XL) but with this particular jacket the XL was too big. I returned it, no problems, for a L and it was here just in time. The material is very soft, not like normal wool, and very very quiet. After wearing another company's HydroSuede 4-in-1 parka for years this jacket was much lighter, less bulky and easier to move around in. There was a snow storm a few days before we left and so we struggled through snow and ice all week from ankle deep to some drifts almost to our waists. This jacket was excellent. It shed snow, ice, and melting water without collecting big chunks. The outer material never got 'wet'. With temperatures from the 10's to 30's and the wind blowing close to 30mph a few days the windsheer lining did just as reported and the jacket, along with a midweight lining and fleece vest, kept me very warm while hiking all days without ever causing me to sweat to death. The only improvement I can suggest is to make this jacket in a tall. It is a good length standing and walking but it would be nice to have another inch or two when you sit. Sometimes the jacket would ride up when I sat and a cold wind would get in on my backside which wasn't so pleasant. But other than that the fit was great. The camo pattern is awesome. It is light enough so that you never 'black out' but it has enough dark green to do a great job of breaking up your outline. They helped me to get within 85yds of a nice elk that capped off the week and filled the freezer. Great product from a great company that I highly recommend to anyone."

"This jacket is awesome. I live in northern vermont and have worn the jacket for an entire bow season. The Fabric is definately quiet enough. i know you hear a lot about he windshear lining being loud and in some of the windshear products the liner is to loud. I could wear this jacket on 30-35 degree days with only two layers underneath. I also had no problem shooting my bow with the jacket i would just fold one side of the collar down and i was all set. I'm really excited about this jacket and i can't wait to wear it during rifle season."

"I bought this for caribou hunting. After freezing on top of the Nahanni Range at the Yukon/NWT border in Sept, my hunting buddy was wearing one of these and no complaints of the wind. I decided to buy one for my next outing. I bought the pants and the jacket. Very nice. It is wool however, so snow sticks to it. To my surprise I saw two other hunters in late October in the Yukon Territory wearing this coat as well (a great jacket for the ATV too). I liked it when layering. Not too heavy, not too light I wear it all the time."

Exceptional Cold Weather Gear,October 20, 2009

"I bought the entire set of Wooltimate Gear for a Wyoming High Country Elk Hunt......Jacket, Pullover, Vest, Pants, and Fleece Henley. We rode 22 miles up into the Shoshone National Forrest 2 weeks ago and it was below zero almost every morning with temps usually up to around 4-5 degrees during the day.....they said it was the coldest October in 40 years. We were in 1.5 to 2 feet of snow most of the time with occassions of waist deep snow in the drifts.....we hunted up to 11,000+ feet. For a South Texas boy, this was pretty Extreme to say the least! The best thing I did was buy this Wooltimate gear. With this clothing and my Perfekt 10 boots, I stayed warm during the entire hunt....even when my wooltimate pants were froze to my jeans. Jacket and pants would be froze solid in places every day but still kept me dry and warm in the snow, sleet and rain. The only place I ever got cold was the uncovered areas of my face. The clothing was not bulky at all and didn't present any problems walking or mounting the mules that we rode. This Gear is the best buy I've ever made on any Hunting Gear! Cabelas, you've hit a Homerun with this Incredible Series.....keep up the good work!!"

"Great product. The jacket is comfortabel for the cooler days and the windshear works well. My only complaint is the collar is a little too tall and wide for bowhunting. The collar interferes with the string while you are shooting thus making the jacket useless for archery. Great for hunting with a rifle though."

"This jacket really does cut the wind and keep you warm.Just got back from watching the eagles down at Red Wing MN. Temp was 5 degrees with a 15-20 mph wind.I stood on the point for close to an hour and only my hands got cold.I was so impressed with the Wooltimate coat I ordered the Vest also. You really can't go wrong with this coat.Well made,nice lining. Nice tall collar.

"At first I was torn between this jacket and the berber version. Glad I picked this version. The wool in this jacket makes it soft and the WindShear does just as claimed. It was 20 degrees when riding my 4-wheeler to the deer stand and I was toastie warm. The XL sizing fits my 6'-2", 230 lb. frame just fine. Like all of the pockets and their pull tabs. Also, the adjustable, draw string, waist is a plus. Another excellent product offerd by Cabela's."
