"i have worn this a few times in 40 degree temperatures and been very warm, however, when you move it does make some noise because of the windshear. i'm not sure if i want to take the chance on a deer not hearing it. would have given 5 stars if it was quiet."

"I noted that a couple of reviewers commented about size. As I need a 7 5/8" size, I always look for the size comments when buying hats of any kind. It seems that a couple of reviewers said, "too small," a couple said, "just right," and another big-headed reviewer said it was okay, too. So I bought two of them, one in each color.
Turns out that everyone is right. The brown was was sized too small. I had to stretch and struggle with it to get it over the crown of my head and over the ears. The other color fits nicely enough, very comfy, in fact, so much so that I can fold it up and double the hat over the ears. One nice thing is the hat is, at least, long enough. Some of these "watch caps" are really "half-watch caps."
What's the verdict? If you've got a large head, you buy one of these and you take your chances. The green camo is the one that fit for me. The brown camo was too small. (my wife loves it -- "very stylish," says she.)
I have yet to try mine. Am hoping the wind doesn't blow right through it, as it does with most of these kinds of hats.
Other info from the tag: Made in China. Machine wash cold. 70% Polyester, 30% acrylic.
Seems to me that Cabelas needs a little more emphasis on quality control, here. You'd think the hats would be the same. At least one could say, "too big," or "too small." Not this one. Its a roll of the dice."

"Good product. Too bad it doesn't come in windshear though. I find the wind can cut right through it if it's blowing hard. The other thing I would change is the design. It kinda looks like a chef's or bakers hat when you wear it and I don't see the need for all that material standing straight up above your head."

"If I didnt keep losing this cap elk hunting it would be my last. I have started three years of cold morning elk hunts in this cap. Great feel and very warm on brisk mornings. It does such a great job I have to take it off late morning. Thats where my trouble starts. I tuck it into my shoulder strap and end up losing it. Three yeras in a row and I swear each time will be my last. It such a good cap I end up buying another before the end of deer season. If you find one Elk hunting Eastern Oregon, ENJOY."

"I absolutely love my Berber fleece watch cap and neck gaiter! But - I know better than to wear my watch cap on a cold windy day without putting another cap underneath - the wind cuts right through and will leave your head cold.
