"just bought the bear claw 1400 insulated boot, put right on the fit was perfect. Walked around the woods and in water so far so good. Cannot wait till hunting season to really test these boots."

Best boots I've owned - feet are warm & not sore!!, May 5, 2009

"I just turned 56; my body is not as nimble or forgiving as it once was. My company has 1.5 million square feet of -5F freezer. The floors are very hard, six feet of dense concrete. Over the past five years, even wearing boots designed specifically for freezers (in terms of insulation, support, and padding), my feet have always been cold. In addition, the soles of my feet and my arches have been habitually sore. I decided to give The Rocky Bear Claw 1400 boots a try. The Rocky's have exceeded my expectations in all regards. With one thermal and one heavy wool sock (my standard sock technique for 40 years), my feet are always toasty warm at any temperature. Even walking the hard floors, my soles and arches are not sore. In addition, the boot sole grips exceptionally well - black ice is no problem. Oh - and outdoors, the boots are sensational - warm and comfortable, able to deal with any surface. This winter we had the worst ice storm in a hundred years and the Rocky's were true and never surprised me as I navigated glare ice. These are the best boots I've ever owned. I recommend them without reservation and would not hesitate to buy another pair. I plan to try more Rocky footwear."

"I just received my Rockys...

I followed the instructions of others and ordered them a 1/2 size larger. I do wish I had ordered them in the wide option because they really are tight when first trying them on.

After several days of mild use, they are finally relaxing and are extremely warm in the snow!

I believe these should be the ultimate hunting boot in extremely cold conditions, but aren't a regular hunting boot.

They are made for COLD weather where they shine!"

"Be carefull when ordering. Some reviews said to go 1 size bigger. So i did, WAY to big! Go with your usual size or maybe half bigger. Other than that amazing boot! Extremly warm even down in the negatives. No more cold toes!"

"Warmest , comfortable, waterproof, light weight boots I have ever purchased. Great for late season Wisconsin Winter hunting. Boots are warm but light weight so I can climb into my treestand without making noise. These boots worked perfect. Highly recommended !!!!"

"I bought these boot about 1 month before I went with the guys to west yellowstone. I was happy with the grip on the soles, and they kepted me warm and dry even when the temp got as high as 35f. The only thing I would not trust is the lases, they seem pretty thin."

"Rocky bear claws are the best for the money. my first pair lasted over 6 seasons. The only reason I bought new one is that I wore the soles down. The uppers never leaked or lost its thermal retention. Great boot, well worth the money"

"I purchased these boots, after reading the reviews on line and I was in need for a good warm hunting and fishing boot. Bought them to try out for muzzleloading in Michigan. I recieved the boots wore them around the house for 4 or 5 days. Then got a chance to go muzzleloading this Dec. the Sat. I went out the wind was blowing 20 mph and had about 25" inches of snow to walk through and the temp was 10 degrees. These boots performed much better than I thought they would in those condition my feet stayed dry and warm. You can hunt and fish alot longer when you have warm feet. AWESOME HIGHLY RECOMMEND GREAT PRODUCT CAN'T WAIT TO GO ICE FISHING. I highly recommend when you order these boots order at least one full size larger than what you normally would wear and you will be set."

"Looking for a warm pair of boots sitting in a stand in NE MN deer hunting with temps ranging from 0 to 20 degrees. Satisfied with warmth - toes got cool sitting for 4 hours but not unbearable. Used them for hunting pheasant in 5 degree weather in SD in early December. Comfortable walking in all terrain. Very warm and seem to let my feet breath fairly well (no sweating). Only knock is that when tightened real tight, the side of the boot tends to press hard on the ankle bone and became very uncomfortable by end of the day and even felt bruised (the ankle bone) the next morning when putting them on again. I loosened them slightly near the ankle bone and tightened real tight at the top and seemed to correct the problem. Very little grip on ice (when flooding hockey rinks) due to the soles being hard rubber. Great boot. Would have given them a 5 if weren't for the ankle bone discomfort, which I seem to figure out how to get around this."

"Great boots for keeping your feet warm. My feet remained comfortable in twelve degree weather in a deer stand for hours with these boots on my feet. They are somewhat stiff and not good for a day of walking CRP looking for pheasants."
