Didn't cut bone well,
October 14, 2009
By TmmMoore
from central CA
|
"I bought this saw to replace "Gerber switch a blade saw" but found that it didn't cut bone well at all or with lots of energy. I'll be returning this product for the 'switch a blade saw' which cuts bone easier but the handle needs to be design better to not split."

A Little Flimsy,
August 4, 2009
By BoneSawyer
from Denver, CO
|
"I ordered this saw for my upcoming elk hunt. I based my decision on the fact that it says it is for big game and that it is packable (light weight and compact). I have to say that I am worried about the effectiveness, as it is flimsy and seems as if it would break easily. Having used a Wyoming Saw before, I know what a bone saw is capable of! With that I said I will be carrying the Wyoming Saw as a back up just in case. I will be sure to write a follow up review once I use it next month, but my first impression stands, it is a flimsy saw."

Gerber E-Z Saw II,
February 3, 2009
By hntaz
|
"Used this to split the pelvic bone and breast plate of a bull elk, a whitetail, and a javalina. It took some effort on the elk pelvic bone but the E-Z Saw didn't bend or lose sharpness. It's still good as new. The blunt end works as designed, the urine sacks do not get pierced.
I carry the longer E-Z saw, a Wyoming knife, and the Cabelas Mini-Alpha Hunter knife. Between the three I can field dress and bone out about any large game animal, and the overall weight is minimal."

"This saw is great. It is a little bigger than I though but it should work great. After reviewing it will work good for the pelvis and rib cage."

Handy tool,

By 40Yamaha
from Amsterdam, NY
|
"This is a pretty handy little piece of equipment and easy to carry or fit in a backpack. It works well on whitetail-sized game and is useful to split open the breastbone to fully field dress the deer. I used it on two deer this season and it did the trick."

Gerber Saw,

By BCRSGunner

"I gave one of the saws I ordered to a friend who had drawn a bighorn sheep tag after 12 years of applying. He harvested a nice ram and used the saw to field dress it. He said he loved the design and light weight and "it worked like a charm.""

E-Z Saw,
August 18, 2008
By 123148
from SW Wyoming.

"I've used the E-Z Saw I for years and it's worked great on deer and antelope but was a bit small for elk and moose now that the E-Z II has come out I'm sure it'll be what the doctor ordered. Everyone that has used my E-Z I has bought one for themselves."
