Headset,
December 30, 2008
By CGHunter

"Earpiece was uncomfortable. I was having difficulty with boom mic sets due to durability so I tried this ear wrap headset. Had to move mic to mouth in order to talk which was cumbersome in hunting situation. I will go back to the boom-type mic set."

Comfortable all day,
February 22, 2008
By PaleHorse
from Hopkinsville, KY
|
"I have this headset as it was part of the kit I purchased. The mic and earpiece are easy to use and do not cause the discomfort typically found in ear pieces. I'd buy this product again to go with my radio. It worked great in a treestand during hunting season."

Can you hear me now?,

"I purchased these because the smaller ear buds always fall out and I end up wrestling with my gear instead of hunting. These worked well, stayed in place, and were easy to hear. Well worth the money."

Great Product,
January 29, 2008
By Mark16365

|
"Worked very well, the only problem I encountered was that it doesn't take much for the control to switch between voice activated or push to talk to get moved. I use the push to talk version, and a few times it would get bumped into the voice actiavated mode which is so sensitive it basically broadcasts continuously. I am going to correct by putting a piece of black electrical tape around the switch to keep it in the push to talk mode."

midland avph4 ear wrap headsets,
November 12, 2007
By DavidVermont
from Central Vermont
|
"These are comfortable with good audio but - they have a very short life span. We've gone through six in one deer season plus one day into the second season. The wire connections seem to be the weak point. If Midland could fix that they'd have a home run."

AVP-H4 Earwrap Headsets,
November 5, 2007
By Mike43
from Upper Michigan
|
"Bought these to use in the North woods for whitetail hunting. The mic's are poor quality. When you speak into the mic's, everyone listening has a hard time making out what you are saying. They say its like a muffeled whisper. We have tried everything as far as the radio settings and the volume and nothing changes. It makes no difference if you speak soft or loud or how close or far the mic is from your mouth. The earpiece works fine and is clear. I can't use these and am sending them back for a refund."

Midland AVPH4 Ear Wrap Headsets,
September 30, 2007
By MLWMT
from Cut Bank, MT
|
"Sorry, The Midland boom mike earwrap sets are a better accessory for the money. I found myself having to speak directly into AVPH4 mike in order to be received by another radio and felt this defeated the primary reason for being able to clip it to a collared shirt. I'll be sending them back."

Great product,
September 21, 2007
By jklreid3

"This headset is much better than the standard headset that comes with Midland radios. It fits snuggly in the ear yet does not impede all the important sounds that a hunter needs and wants to hear, such as that Elk bugle just over the next ridge. The earpiece does not make your ear sore and the clip-on lapel mic is easy and convienant to use. Good job, Midland."

Wrap headsets,
November 23, 2006
By Earthwalker
from Mid state Massachusetts.
|
"It seems we have increasingly less time to spend in the field, that is the difficult part about having a hunting partner, getting together. While we both enjoy the comraderie of the experience we both have need to go each our own way at times. Our two way radios allow us to separate but stay connected. We both pack a fair amount of gear and our pockets can get quite filled. With our Wrap headsets we can literally bury our radios without having to worry about digging to find them when we want to communicate. The wrap arounds stay put in our ears, provide instant connectability while not forcing us to fumble when we get a call or want to make one. These are top of the line items and I don't think either myself or my partner would consider using our radios without them anymore. We also enjoy the fact that we don't spook game when that unexpected call comes in - really important when whitetail hunting!"

Finally we can communicate!,
November 21, 2006
By JPP1
from Auburn Hills, MI

"Finally a good combination of an earpiece and a microphone. I have bought several different combinations of radios and earpieces with the microphones that are not effective. This one has a very comfortable earpiece and the microphone is perfect! I recently used it on a trip with my brothers and dad. I could whisper into the microphone and they could actually hear me! I have used and seen other models that just don't work as well. The major problem is usually the clarity of the person talking into the microphone. My one brother borrowed my 2nd headset and loved it! He actually offered to buy it from me on the spot. I told him that Christmas is right around the corner, so obviously I recommend these for stocking stuffers!!"
