good but needs some redesigning,January 1, 2009
By rmerc
"These headsets function good but have some problems. The earpiece is not very adjustable and falls out constantly. If you have a big head like me the vox function does not work because the boom is not long enough. The only way to talk in it is to push the mic towards your face which in turn no longer makes it a "hands-free device""

Poor,November 25, 2008

"I am a disabled hunter who needs to keep in contact with someone during my hunts just in case. I got the best midland radio's i could find so my hunting friends can go to more locations and keep in contact. I still haven't found a headset that will work with these radios. I have tried the AV4's and this one.. but both have failed. This set one of the boom mic's broke the 1st day out. The AV4's we couldn't understand each other. I would like for someone that knows of a good headset for midland radio's please let me know. I will check back for any leads..
thanks,
Michael 100 % Disabled Veteran"

"I got these as backups for the ones I already had. I use mine for Airsoft and put them thru some pretty ruff use and they haven't failed me yet."

good for what they are,February 25, 2007

"I have been useing these for woodsball for about a year now and they are still working. the only problem i have had is the inline PTT switch no longer works. I like these for the cheeper price because I am always lending them to other players on my team so when they get broken I wont cry, I'll just buy two more. good buy for the money."

U get what u pay 4,December 13, 2006

"I have used this headset for a few seasons in the PA woods while deer hunting. I've broken two in the last two years and replaced them with the $40, Model AVPH-4 (Item:QT-228079). WOW! Upgrade and spend the $! I didn't realize how much adjusting I had been doing to these cheaper headsets to listen and talk. Also while the sound quality on these are "okay" the AVPH-4 is much clearer. (Helps when your getting older!) Also the boom mic is really fragile. Once cracked it shorts out the wires inside and is useless. My bud broke his boom mic and it shorted out w/o him knowing. He was transmitting for an hour (blocking the rest of our hunting party from using the frequency). A few guys I hunt with still use these. Some are tape them to their ear/jaw to keep it in place. :-/ I spend way too much on hunting and gear to start skimping on a headset. But they are "average" for what they are, and they do work."

Midland AVPI Radio Headset pair,November 21, 2006
By Gruntmanfrom Levittown, Pennsylvania
"Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! I purchased these walkie talkies because my father is approaching 80 years old and still loves to hunt. What a better way to leave his independence in tact and feel secure that I am just a hollar away with these devices. I also use them as well when I hunt with my son. Being a college student, we don't see each other too often and when we hunt for deer we chat (whisper) about the funniest things. I would highly recommend these for just about anything, but I use them for hunting. There isn't a price on piece of mind when it comes to hunting with an elderly person."

Very Flimsy,November 2, 2006
By CanuckDeerHunterfrom Ottawa, Canada
"These are very poorly made. The insulation cracked just above the plug on both headsets after only a few uses...the bare wires now short out making them useless...nowhere near durable enough for hunting..."
