Decent bow with only a few problems,November 15, 2009

"This is a very good bow for the price. Some of the other reviews said that it was terrible but i bet that everyone who said it was terrible are the people who have $900 bows. Pleasures that some of our wallets cant afford. All and all this is a good bow. Its nice and quite. Forgiving. It has plenty of stopping power. I havent got it up to its supposed max of 55 lbs. but i have shot quite a few deer with it at 47 and it has never let me down. There are a few things wrong with the package though. The site is terrible, the first time shooting one of the pins broke off. The rest they send you is loud and scratched my arrows. it looks like a claw holding up your arrow. This was my first bow ever and now i have a more high tec bow but this was great for a starter. I didnt like the axil to axil length though. I now have a 32 axil to axil and i like it alot more. If your going to buy this bow i would invest in a new rest for sure and a new site. Even buying these things still keep it cheaper than alot of other bows on the market today. I would definatly buy if you a young bow hunter looking for his first bow."

"Bought the bow on a saturday and got it wednesday, awsome shipping. The bow is sweet, its a PSE, its fast, and its easy to use. Can't get much better than that, the only problem was the rest isn't the best, it works but I would buy a whisker or something because what you save on this bow you can afford a new rest. Everything else is awsome."

"i got this bow yesturday and it was the last one that cabelas in hamburg had i've had another pse that was maxed out to 50lbs pull i needed one that i could ajust as the i get used to pulling it pse bows are great i replaced the drop away rest for another kind and i also changed the peep sight i shot it a few time's while i was there and found that it was hitting hard.with the first day of bow season tomorrow ill not use this bow until i can get it sighted in and get used to it. i hope to use it the 2nd week of bow season if not then the late bow season it'll be used"

"This bow is an excellent out of the package bow. It shoots really well and with some practice you can become very accurate. The only problems i've found was that the sight was a little flimsy and while I was walking through the woods last fall I bumped a 1.5" branch and broke the sight right off. Would Recomend another more stable sight. Another thing I noticed is the simple 2 prong "arrow rest" when I drew back it actually didn't hold the arrow in place very well. It would constantly pull off the metal prongs. This bow definitly needs a whisker bisquet for ease of use. The string on the bow is a bit loud on the shot, however if you put simple rubber silencers on the top and bottom of the bow string it quiets the whole thing down dramatically. The Cabela's guys in Hartford, CT were awesome in helping me set this bow up for the last 2 falls use. I've shot 3 small does and an 8 pointer that was 185lbs at 22 YRDS and every time it had plenty of knock down power. Very impressed with this company and product."

"I would highly recommend this bow to anyone looking for a good bow to hunt with at a great price. It is a very smooth shooting bow and does not have the vibration problems I have been reading about. It's not as fast as some of the high end bows, however I only use it to hunt with not for competition. If thats what you are looking for you will not be dissapointed. PSE has been around too long to put a bad product out there."

"I have shot PSE for almost 20 years. I have previously owned both a Pulsar and Polaris. I picked this package up to shoot while I am away from home and for the price I am more than satisfied. It's got a good taught feel to it, a nice balance for being so long, and (For a finger shooter) it doesn't pinch. I will say a whisker Biscut is a must for this Bow, and at this price, you can afford to jazz up a little on the accessories. It's perfect for adult beginners, and I do want to try it out off my stand next fall when I get home. Until then, I'm enjoying a nice 3-D Deer target. The only real negative I have is that it says Ready to Shoot, and I did not recieve a cable guard, which really is necessary for this system. You can't beat the dollar for dollar value on this one, but there are better systems out there, just for about twice as much."

"I got my teenage son this bow as his first hunting bow. I adjusted the tension and draw to fit him. With the wide range of adjustments, I'm expecting it to last him several years.
The only thing I added to the kit was a d-loop, nock points, a release, and some arrows, and he was good to go. The mechanism is smooth and quiet enough. He is already shooting groups tight enough for hunting. This bow is a great value.
A bow press is required to adjust the draw length of this bow."

"I am a newbie to archery and bowhunting, the bow I purchased seems like a good quality bow although I haven't had the chance to hunt with it yet. I would have liked to have had more detailed instructions included with the bow on how to set up the bow, and some basic instuctions on shooting the bow , but I went out and bought a book on bowhunting to find the information I needed.
