"We used this rack a ton this summer. I towed jet skis and boats behind it and never had a problem. I did have to extend my safety tow chains and wiring harness but that was not a big deal. All 4 Mountain bikes loaded nicely."

"The TrailGEAR bike rack was a snap to put together, attaches into the 2" trailer hitch perfectly. is very heavy duty, nicely made and and carries 4 bikes easily. I use a tie down strap attached to the center support, braced back to the truck to keep everything tight and rattle free. Even took a couple of surprise construction bumps on the highway at 75 mph without incident. Absolutely a great value."

"Good, sturdy, durable product. Not easy to load four bikes, especially when two of them are mountain bikes. Once I got a system down, it got better. Just put scratches on the bikes trying to figure out that system. Rides very nice once loaded and secured."

"I purchased this bike rack several weeks ago to get to trails my family couldn't get to around the neighborhood. Pros: - Heavy duty, well built - Rubber straps are tough and securely hold the bike in place - Tilts so that I can get to rear door of my SUV Cons - Heavy - my wife can't lift this into place easily without my help - No lock to secure the rack to your car. Someone could easily pull the cotter pin and move it to their trailer hitch. This bike rack does a really good job and I feel confident to drive it long distances without worry. A problem with this type of rack it that you have to mount your bike onto the rack on your bike's frame (say rather than a Saris which mounts to the wheels), you could scratch your bike frame and the wheels (unless you lock them down) can move very easily while driving. Overall, I really like this bike rack, it suits my family's needs quite nicely. If I had a couple of thousand dollar bikes, I might think twice about this TYPE of rack."

"Bike rack works great, but take the time to try out before planning to use it. It took a little while to figure out which of the four bikes to load first and in what order, after that it was a piece of cake to use. Very durable and sturdy, easy to use the swing-away feature when getting into back of vehicle."

"Great Product, used it the first time on our vacation. I mounted a receiver to the back of my travel trailer and mounted three bikes. They road great and you know how bumpy it can be on the back of a camper. Easy to assemble. Only bad thing I could say it was alittle difficult to load my mountain bike, finally found a trick, and it wouldn't hit my younger sons bike becuase it was too small so that went in the back of the truck. I would buy this same bike rack again. Great quality and not at a Thule price tag."

"I recently purchased the Cabela's Deluxe TrailGEAR Bike Rack, and have been happy with it. Before buying, I inquired about use with children's bikes, and was told they would fit, which is true - with a lot of ingenuity and/or force. I wasn't surprised, however, as I had been looking at racks at local bike shops, and realized that one rack cannot fit all frames equally. I believe an adapter is available, so that could solve the problem. Once on the rack, the bikes ride very well.
The only suggested improvement I would make is with the trailer hitch capacity. I have a 22-foot skiff, whose tongue weight is 250lbs, 50lbs over the hitch's capacity. I'd love to be able to take bikes and boat from place to place, but the hitch still is a feature no other quality bike rack has.
All in all, the rack is exactly what I was expecting, and I am very happy with it."

"My new Cabela's Trailgear bike rack has been a great investment. My wife and I vacation in northern Wisconsin at a state park on a lake and near a bike trail. We need to pull our boat and also haul our bikes. The bikes used to travel on the boat, but the bumpy roads would always manage to cause wear on the bikes and boat. With my new bike rack I can easily and safely haul up to 4 bikes, and the extended hitch allows me to bring the boat along. Also the tilting rack allows me to open the back door on my van at least enough to load or unload gear without removing the hitch. We are very happy with this product."
