Tough container,July 17, 2008
By BDeanfrom Baghdad Iraq
"Tough container that will serve your needs and reasonably priced. The extension "clasp" could use some work, I ended up putting some duct tape around that to ensure it held tight and didn't come loose. But I used this to ship a couple rods home to the states from Iraq, so this went through some rough handling and lots and lots of moves and arrived home in the states with rods safe and sound. Recommend to anyone but would recommend putting some tape around the clasp as mentioned so it doesn't get jammed and pop open collapsing on your rods."

Very Cheap Quality,March 4, 2008
By JPFITZ
"My first Plano rod tube came in broken even though the cardboard shipping box was in good shape. The replacement rod tube also came in broken with the bottom of the tube completely seperate from the tube. Two other pieces of plastic were also broken off of the latching system. As I was leaving on my trip in a couple of days I epoxied the bottom back on and then wired it closed. I also glued and screwed the cap and all connectors as they are to cheaply made to risk shipping my rods in. A couple more pieces of plastic broke off while being shipped on the airline but the rods were ok. Bottom line is don't even think of using this rod tube without modifications. Also, the actual design is different from the one pictured in the catalog as the end screws off now."

Plano Rod Tube fragile end,September 17, 2007
By Anonymousfrom California
"I purchased the rod tub to carry a salt water rod and a number of nautical charts on a sailing trip. The rod tube didn't survive the airline trip to our departure point. The weight of the charts had hamered through the end of the tube. I think the mass of the charts was too much for the tube."

Durk,July 18, 2007
By Durkfrom Hudson, Illinois
"I traveled to a remote fly-in only fishing camp in the north woods of Canada, I took 4 rods with me, this case worked like a charm. Protected the rods well and is fully adjustable to fit most rods, wich I needed, as I do not use rods that break down. A must have for the traveling angler."

By Stefanofrom Switzerland
"I tried so many rodtubes, but this is the only one, that is strong enough to be taken by plane everywhere in the world. I travel a lot and this is the best protection for your rods on todays market."

Traveling Rods,November 21, 2006
By burzumfrom Huntington Beach, CA
"If you do a lot of travelling with your rods, this is the protection you need. Wether it be flying, throwing the rods in the back of the truck, or just storage. I have fit up to 8 rods ranging from 6-8ft in this retractable case. Great product and inexpensive."
