"First off, you DO NOT need to remove your scope to install these. Just hold the open lens cover in one hand and tighten the INNER ring until they are snug. As others have said, I do think they are expensive and I wish they came pairs, but they are the best and that's why I bought a Leupold in the first place. They are quiet to open, stay tight and aligned, and I have not had them leak water onto the lens when it is raining. A great addition to any Leupold scope!"

"Great product! My only complaint is that I was under the assumption that both caps were coming in stead of one. A bit pricey but very high quality. Don't worry you don't have to take off your scope to install these caps like alot of the other reviews state. A piece of cake to install and they stay closed when you want them to."

"I HAVE SEVERAL SETS OF THESE COVERS AND I THINK THEY ARE WORTH EVERY NICKLE I PAID. I EVEN SENT SCOPES BACK TO LEUPOLD TO HAVE THEM CONVERTED TO ACCEPT THEM. THEY ARE TOUGH, WATERPROOF AND STREAMLINED. THEY EVEN WORK ON LEUPOLD'S NEW MOJAVE BINOCULARS, WHICH I ALSO OWN AND LOVE. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH LEUPOLD. Lost it - Eye piece,

"Lost the screw on eye piece cover. Machined so precisely the thread would loosen easily by itself and somehow depite frequent re-tightening it unscrewed itself and fell out on an elk hunt last week-end.
Covered really tight but also had a tendency to release easily and flip out. Probably the extra leverage from the cap contributed to the loss. Also has a tendency to take the eye piece out of focus when fit flips out too easily. Needs a bit more of a positive release.
Despite the above would like to have back; 1000% better than Butler Creek option. Suggest you very carefully, don't want any on the eye piece lens, put a drop of loctite on the thread."

"I own a number of these, and have them on all of my scopes. Excellent protection for the lenses, and they instantly flip open for sighting with the rifle. Recently desired to buy a pair for my Leupold Scout scope. The 28mm size fits great on the eye piece, but, unfortunately, the objective lens does NOT have a size that fits. Bummer. I wish I could get Leupold to make a size to fit both ends of their 2.5 x 8 IER. You won't get better protection for your scope's lenses- period."

"I've been using Butler Creek flip up covers on all my Leupolds for the past 15 years and they work pretty well. However, these Leupold covers take lens protection to the next level. Installation took less than 2 minutes. As they screw in to your objective/ocular lens they are perfectly form fitting. They operate flawlessly and don't make a sound when opened. They actually add about 1/4 inch to your eye relief, a fact greatly appreciated when firing a heavy recoiling 300 RUM. Keep in mind they don't come as a pair so order accordingly. Lastly, they just plain look great on your scope and don't cover up that trademark golden ring. A sure keeper in my book."
