Excellent product,October 12, 2009
By sox29from Southeastern Connecticut
"We have been using this product for two years now and it is great. Even when we planted a little late last year mid to late September we had a great food plot that was attracting deer well after the hunting season. Planted in early september this year with no fertilizer and it is coming up even better this year. this will be planted on our farm every year"

Easy to grow!,March 17, 2009
By UpstateNYerfrom Bath, NY
"This seed blend has grown "like a weed" everywhere I have planted it. Last year I cleared out a 3/4 acre plot in the center of the woods and planted Shot Plot. It grew in nice and thick - and fast! The soil conditions in this plot were less than ideal as well so that is a great testament to how adaptable this mix is. I planted 1 acre in an open field that was previously almost all Goldenrod and just like the package says I had plants 2 feet tall in ~45 days. This mix seems to compete with weeds very well but be sure to RoundUp before you start preparing the seed bed. Here in upstate NY the deer don't seem to utilize the plants much until mid to late November. Once they start you can almost always count on finding deer in this food plot. It's a great winter food source that provides forage that stays accessible above our normal snowfall depths."

"Deer love this stuff! After the first hard frost they ate it down to the ground and dug out the turnips. Plan on planting larger area next year."

"I've planted this for the last two years and it really draws in the deer. They walk by other plantings to get to the evolved habitat plantings."

Evolved Habitats ShotPlot - 10 lbs.,September 11, 2007
By ctracker60from Brockport, NY
"Great seed. Even with the heat of August here in NY this year I had a very high rate of germination and the plants look extremely healthy. I planted this last late summer and by bow season it was a foot and a half tall. After the second hard freeze the deer loved it and ate the entire field to the ground. I had interspersed some clover in the brassica seed and in the spring that clover took right over into a nice food plot."

Shot Plot Review,August 20, 2007
By Zelmo1234from Michigan
"Last year we used another brassica product. What a difference. We planted the plots on the 20th of July and by the 20th of august we have full coverage, the plants are already 6 inches tall in some areas. And it has been very dry as well.
Although I don't know how hard the deer will hit this product after the frost this year, I am looking forward to finding out.
Good Hunting
Jim"

Better go big,August 13, 2007
By Birkfrom Wisconsin
"The deer love this stuff!
They might not touch it during the warmer months, but watch out after the first frost. If you can, plant as big a field as you can as 1/4 acre will get destroyed very quickly. Two tips - do not go cheap of lime and fertilizer and plant in the fall."

Shotplot,November 23, 2006
By Scoutmasterfrom Wisconsin
"Planted a 1/2 acre of shotplot along with some others this year to see which ones work the best and you better have your area fenced off cause we had a hard time keeping the deer off the plot and when we had the freeze and opened it up the slaughterd the site in 1 week. Great stuff"
