Flambeau Master Series Turkey Decoys dissapointing,April 25, 2009
By BR144from Sioux Falls, South Dakota
"I was excited to get these decoys. The real looking heads looked great. As other reviewers suggested, the heads are too heavy for the flimsy body. When you purchase something called master series, you expect first class material. I was out of luck since I had already sold my other decoys. The stakes are a nightmare and I have replaced a couple already. They don't hold up, are complicated to use, and you can not set them up quickly. The feeding hen always eventually falls forward off her stake. These decoys also do not move in the wind. I am looking for replacements. This is my third year using them, most likely last."

Work OK, but some limitations,April 23, 2009
By Reo2845from Colorado
"I have bagged several nice toms over these decoys, so they work. However, the stake system is complicated and fragile. Setting up in the dark is a real problem. The bodies are difficult to pop out and the tendency is to mash them down while inserting the stakes. The stakes are plastic and break easily (I broke two) and expensive to replace. The heads look good, but are too heavy for the foam body to support. Heads tend to lean one way or the other."

"i used the intruder jake decoy for one year and i was not impressed at all. the body was real thin and wouldnt support the weight of the head and the head alway ended up goin cockeyed to one side of the body. the foam wasnt that durable either, after 3 times using it, it started to rip down the middle. i am not happy with this."

Dont like em,April 13, 2008
By Webbiefrom Wisconsin
"I think these decoys have the best looking and realistic head i've seen on a decoy.Too bad i cant say anything good about the body. The body foam is too thin and wont puff out nicely enough to look real. Plus, the head is too heavy for the thin body foam and wants to flop to the sides of the body. The paint started falling off the body after using one time also. The stakes for standing the birds up are VERY noisy and can break easily. They are also not very easy to use in the early morning when light is low. Dont like these decoys !!!!"

Flambeau Master Series Decoy,June 15, 2007
By RangerMaxfrom Manhattan, KS
"Decoy is light weight, very realistic head. Body was a little flimsy, but used hair dryer to shape intially and it went back to shape when used in field. The stake is a little cumbersome, may put bobbin hen optional stake on it next season. It drew in turkeys effectively and moved only slightly in wind. Have the feeding hen and may buy rest of flock for fall."

"The only thing that I dont like about these decoys is that their ultra realistic head is to heavy for the foam body, and that means that after very little use the head of the decoy flips and flops around unnaturely."

Flambeau Master's series Turkey Decoys,April 18, 2007
By GobblerFreakfrom Muncie Indiana
"I was excited when I first saw the high quality heads sticking up in the top of the box. Once I opened them I was quickly disapointed, I expected the great attention to detail to continue on throughout the rest of the decoy. I found the foam bodies to be very flimsy, they were extremly weak around the base of the neck. I found the paint job to be average at best, the Jake had some nice irridecant green in its paint scheme though.
The stakes were a major disapointment, I set mine up in broad-daylight and broke 2 of the 3 stakes. They are constructed of extremly weak plastic and complicated to assemble. I can only imagine the hassel of trying to set these decoys up in pitch dark conditions, or worse yet, in a hurry.
Overall I was very disapointed by these decoys, perhaps if the bodies were constructed of a Polyethelyne material and they used a different staking system, then I would rate far higher."

Decoy looks great!,April 17, 2007
By Mikeybonesfrom West Texas
"These decoys look GREAT!!!!!! I have had several toms and hens come in to investigate and not get spooked like some of the cheaper foam decoys.
These are the best constructed foam decoys loaded with features that one would not expect in a decoy. The seams are stitched and turned in, and the hole in the bottom is lined, all for durability. The stake is orange, more like the actual color of turkey legs. The heads are unbelievable in their look, construction and paint. The painting on the bodies is wonderful. The Jake has irridescent paint to give it the same color and sheen of a real turkey. Some serious thought went in to these.
The only thing that kept me from giving these dekes a 5 star rating was the cumbersome setup of the stake. In the early morning darkness, there can be some confusion as the feeding hen has a different stake set up from the upright hen and the jake.
Overall, these are the best soft (and hard) bodied decoys I've ever seen!"

Field Tested in South Carolina,April 16, 2007
By PapaMarkfrom North Augusta, SC
"Flambeau added many improvements to these birds. The heads and bodies look great. The unique red stakes are heavy duty with arms that "plug" into the neck and stabilize the body and tail. The body material is tough but thinner than the old-style foam and easily pops into shape in the field with no memory creases. If these three cons store well in the winter and stand up to an occasional #4 shot in the spring, I'm sure they'll serve me well."

Flambeau Master Series Decoys,April 10, 2007
By MaineHunter464from Oxford, Maine
"These decoys are hands-down the best I've ever seen or used. That point was proven the very first time I ever used one. My wife had gotten me one hen decoy as a gift. I had a full set of another companies decoys so I just mixed the Flambeau decoy in with them. Opening morning I had two huge toms come in from their roost on other side of the hay field. When they got to my set up they completely ignored every other decoy and did their best to seduce the Flambeau hen. One did eventually clobber my "other" jake, and after watching the awesome show for 45 minutes (no kidding), I shot the bigger of the two birds. (19.5lb-10"beard 1.25" spurs) I've never seen turkeys so interested in a decoy before and I can gaurantee I'll use nothing but the Master Series decoys in the future. The only way you could beat these decoys is to have your own mounted by a taxadermist!"
