"I purchased a F-III six power scope for my new rifle. WOW! This scope captures so much light right during the last few minutes of shooting. I sat on my front porch on a new moon evening and I never got to the point that I could not see a white tag on my neighbors new tree - well over 100 yrds. I got cold before the scope ran out of light. Rivals scope of much higher price. I could not ask for anything more out of a deer hunting scope."

"I bought this as a replacement to a less expensive US brand that I actual bent in a fall last year. The Leupold scout had been my first choice but the price was an issue both then and now. The results were worth the price; starting from 150 yds, standing position with a carrying sling, taking a shot walking in 30 yds taking another - I had seven of nine on paper within 12"x12" target, five in the black. Typically I use a 6x42 Leupold on my .270, but the fixed 2x on my .30-30; with the scope tail at the end of the receiver is great for visibility. The fifth start would be given for for a more economicaly price. But I'm glad I bought one - now I have two Leopold's, one to hand down to each of my children."

"I've had the 2.5xIER scope mounted on my Marlin 1895G .45-70 Guide Gun for over 7 years. Using a scout cope mount by Ashley Outdoors and Leupold quick-release rings, this setup has given me flawless performance. I've used a full range of ammunition from Winchester 300-grain CXP-3 up to the woefully painful-recoil-inducing Garrett 540-grain Hammerheads and the scope has never lost it's zero. Hunting conditions have included Heavy rain, dry blowing dust, altitudes from sea-level to 10,400 feet, jostling on an ATV for miles in sub-freezing weather to temps above 100 degrees. And I've never received a Black-eye-scope-ring on my face, thanks to the 9+ inches of extended eye relief. With the quick-release rings, I've performed multiple scope removals and re-mounts while hunting and never lost the zero. And it even brightens my view in low-light conditions. I highly recommend this scope; it's simply superior to the others I've tried."

"About 5 years ago, I purchased Leupold's 2.5xIER Scout Scope for a Winchester 94AE. I sold it and the rifle to a friend a year later, and regretted the loss of the scope. Since then, I acquired a Marlin 444P and set it up for Scout work. I purchased Leupold's same 2.5xIER Scout scope, and returned it to them to adjust the parallax to 50 yards from the standard 150 yards. They did the work for a reasonable fee and returned the scope . Most of the areas I hunt are brushy with oak scrub and trees and quite hilly. I've seldom gotten a shot beyond 100 yards, but more often 70 yards. My Leupold Scout scope is superb. Clarity is awesome. Once I dialed in my windage and elevation, it has stayed put throughout the recoil of both Buffalo Bore 335gr WFNs and Grizzly's similar load. All in all, one of the best scopes I've ever mounted on a rifle."

"I bought this scope and mounted it on an old 7x57 Brno model 21H that I got as a gift from a friend. I figured, the 7x57 is not really a long range caliber and a 4x Fixed Power will do just fine as I was prepared to limit my shots to 300 yards max.
I got the "Wide Duplex" and I highly recommend it versus the standard Duplex. The scope and the reticle lines up much faster on game with the wide duplex and I found it to be a bit brighter as well. Also, over the years, I have found out that even on my variable power scopes, I seldom set it higher than 4x, unless I am shooting at small game or am at the range.
In short, If you have an older caliber like the 6.5 SM, the 7x57 or similar, this would be a great addition to it both in terms of giving it its "Retro" status, providing more than adequate magnification for big game hunting and less internal parts to deal with in case your scope is out of parallax or the adjustmenst don't work properly."

"There is nothing wrong with this product. Its a Leupold, so you know that it is a great scope with good glass. I have had cheaper scopes and regretted it. My only qualification is that I expected the price on the 4X fixed scope to be substantially less than the price for the variable scopes, and it wasn't. Still if you want a fixed power product, this scope is all that you will ever need."

"I purchased this scope for a Savage .338 magnum used for elk hunting here in NM. The optics are fantastic. The eye relief is excellent. I bought the heavy duplex model and find that if works perfectly for my purposes. Once mounted on the rifle it took only three shots to obtain a 250 yard zero aiming point. After approximately 20 rounds fired and one successful bull elk hunt the scope remains perfectly zeroed. If you are looking for a reliable, simple to use rifle scope for big game hunting in the western US this is one scope you should seriously consider."

"Just received my Leupold FX-II 4X33mm from Cabela's and mounted it on my Ruger MK II compact (308win short action).
I too have always loved fixed power scopes and have wanted this scope for over last twenty years. I just traded in my variable for a fixed.
Sweet scope!! Exceptional quality as always with Leupold, great eye relief, nice 1/4 inch audible clicks, very clear and light weight, and I am really impressed with the care taken to package and present it. Have not yet made it to the range but I expect high quality here also.
One of the great things I like about Leupold is they still have the focus lock ring. Others manufacturers have shifted to a non-lock focus ring on back of scope. For me I found this a problem (evident sometimes how I carry the rifle while tracking) as the end of scope rubs agaisn't my jacket arm and the focus changes. With Leupold, focus adjust it once and lock it for life. I like it.
I highly recommended this scope if you perfer light, short, fixed scopes.
Exceptional for short actions.
Will be used in Vermont and Maine this coming season.
