"My experience with this scope has been great during the sighting in and shooting. The only problems I had was I did not recieve information on how to use the TMR ILL reticle for shooting long distances and also I was suppose to get a Leupold scope cover to keep on the scope when not in use to keep it dust and dirt free. It said in the catalog that I would recieve the cover with the scope but I did not get one. More and better info of how to use the TMR reticle would be a great help.

"This scope is fantastic. After "centering" the scope reticle for elevation and windage I have approximately 59.5 MOA either way if I did the math correctly, which should be good enough for 1,000 shots, especially with a scope base that provides you with a 20 MOA cant. The M1 turrets are especially nice as they are crisp and easy to manipulate from the prone position, and you do not have to worry about misplacing turret covers. The illuminated reticle has 11 different brightness settings and should be great for lower light plinking and varmint hunting as the crosshairs definitely standout against darker colors. For a varmint or plinking rifle that will be used for long range, this is the scope to get. The 14X is great, but for hunting purposes it is practical to have the lower 4.5X setting for close in moving shots. The side parallax adjustment is a necessity, and is an excellent feature. For serious shooters, a Mark 4 scope is the one to get. I own numerous Leupold scopes and they have never failed a "tracking test" even after the Vari-X III 3.5-10X on my 7mm Remington Magnum was brushed up against trees by my pack horse Out West when the rifle was in the scabbard. Do not let the Mil-Dot reticle intimidate you. With lots of practice I was able to ethically take a Bull Caribou at 400 yards after getting an accurate range using the Mil-Dot reticle. Although the scope is pricey, it is a very valuable investment for the serious shooter."

"I put this scope on an Armalite AR50 .50 BMG with a 15moa forward cant mounting rail. Optics are crisp and clear at all ranges. With the mount and moa adjustment ability in the turrets, 2000+ yard targeting is possible with great accuracy with match ammunition. I have zeroed the rifle and the scope has stayed true despite the heavy recoil of the .50 BMG. I have the same scope on my Remington M40 model 700 .308 and will continue to put them on all of my long range rifles."

"When my daughter opened this she called me crying. She wanted to send it back. Because she felt it was too much for me to spend and based on her usage probably more than she needed. She loves her Leupold sight and she was thrilled with this one, I just think she was overwhelmed.
One thing I forgot is whether or not the mounts for this sight and the one she already has are compatible. Guess I'll have to find out what she has. If they aren't, then I guess it will be a problems since her rifle is a custom job."

"I just took this rifle on a backpack trip around 10,000' in California. I have a 85mm Spotting Scope, but since I was carrying it in I decided to leave it at home this time, putting my faith in this scope. I was not disapointed. THis scope allowed me to dial way in, about twice what my binos can see. These were not cheap binos niether. My Dad always told me to buy the best glass you can buy, and if you have to, go cheap on everything else. He was right. The scope is expensive, but with the right rifle, I will never have to buy another one again. Also, right on target out of the box. 100% Satisfied!!!!"

"The Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25x50mm is an awesome scope. They are a bit pricey, but when it comes down to it, it is worth paying the extra $$ to get the best. The clarity of the scope is great and it preforms well in low light situations. I havent gotten a chance to play with the TMR yet, but I am sure it will work better than the mil-dots that I am use to using. I have two friends that I shoot with, one uses a Night Force scope and the other uses this scope. The night force was almost $400 more than the Leupold and it will meet and exceed the preformance of the more expensive Night Force. One thing that I wish the scope had........adjustment knob covers. I worry that while the rifle is tucked away in my Eberlestock Rifle pack , and the shifting turns the exposed knobs. I am unsure in Leupold has the cover as an extra accessory. My scope is sitting on a Panther DPMS LR-308 in .308 caliber. With my custom loaded ammunition, and this scope, 1000 yard shots are easily obtainable."

"I have The 8.5-25x50 Illuminated TMR mouted on a savage model 12F/TR .308.It stays ture round after round, the illuminated cross hairs are great in low level light with full brightness adjustment. The finsh is perfect, it's a little on the heavy side, all the dails/knobs turn easy and the glass from high to low power is very very good.It comes with a lifetime guarantee and is made in the USA, not many "other " scopes can say that. My dislikes are the extras for leupold are so expensive,lens caps and sun shades."

"The product is a piece of art, but I had some difficulties to attach it on my 30-06 Remington, even I had purchased Cabelas Attachment Rings. Looks like the height of barrel-bore sight part is kind of high and I had to trim the part to be able to reach a desirable view sight. Regarding this problematic attachment, my test shots were below satisfactory so I decided to shift to my .300 Win Savage. No problems during attachment, no problems at all. Thanks..."

"Ive been using the fixed 16x on an out of the box Remington 700P. This scope is a big part of the consistent 1/2 MOA groups I shoot with this rig using 168gr Federal GMM. Its a typical 16x in that the exit pupil diameter is a little small, but that forces you to keep a consistent cheek weld. Overall I love the Leupold MK4 series."

"For those of you considering a precision rifle optic take a hard look at the MK4 in whatever flavor suits your needs. They are reasonably priced,field rugged,well suported by Leupold(lifetime no hassle warranty with excellent customer service) and the adjustments are true. I purchased the 3.5to10x40mm LRT with TMR reticle and M1 dials fom Cabelas to mount on a GA Precision AR10. The TMR is the best MilDot style reticle i have used to date. I have a total of 4 on various rifles in different magnification ranges and objective diameters. It provides all the features of the US Army round style/or US Marine football style reticle with none of the drawbacks. It obscures less of the target and gives a crisper sight picture. For those of you familiar with using mildots it has the added benefit of a .5mil hash mark beween each "Mildot" making Mil ranging/holdover/and shooting movers a LOT easier. All in all its a great optic and i highly recommend them to prospective buyers. Semper Fi, Buck"
