Gave it a try for a .44 black powder pistol,

"I got this holster for my 1858 New Army black powder .44 5-1/2" BBL. The fit was much too
tight so I soaked the holster in hot water until pliable, then wrapped the pistol snuggly in
tin foil covering metal parts then pushed the pistol into the wet holster as snuggly as
possible and let it dry overnight. The .44 now slides easily into a little darker holster
than original but looks great with this pistol. The holster returned to a rigid leather
"fit" to the gun. Very pleased with results."

"Great holster ! Fits my Ruger Vaquaro 45 5 1/2 perfectly. I was using another famous brand of holster and belt. Keep the belt and got me the new Galco. Best darn rig I"ve used in years."

Quality you can See & Feel,

"We all know that there is a difference between a Cadillac and a Ford. The same is true with all products. The holster I purchased has real quality, that you can See and Feel. Visibly, you can see the experience of the craftsman, and feel the pride he put into his product. I liked it so well, I bought a second holster. One is righthand draw, and the other is crossdraw. The product is excellent."

"Purchased both the holster and belt for my Ruger Vaquero. No way could you purchase anything out there that would be better. Galco is the best in leather and Cabela's is the best at stocking and shipping. A+"

"This is a plain jane holster with not much for extra's. I have had mine for about six months now and it just keeps getting better every day. My guns fit nicely and drawing and reholstering is very easy. Have recommended to two friends so far who have both bought their own."

"Galco is one of the top names in gun leather and for good reason. I bought both the right hand, and the cross draw for Cowboy Action Shooting. Both my pistols fit great right off the bat. Drawing is ultra smooth. I would get these if your looking for a John Wayne style holster."

"At first I wasn't sure if my RUGER SuperBlackhawk 4 5/8 would fit as it wasn't listed specificaly in the Galco catalog,but it did, LIKE A GLOVE. The pistol rides just at the right spot for a fast draw as well as my jacket covers my rig.I don't think I could ask for a much better set-up. Ofcourse you need the Galco DUKE belt to put the holster on,they were made for each other."
