"The shellplate works great, only reason for 4 star rating is that i was just misinformed when i purchased. I wanted to reload .45 ACP, and Hornady now produces a #45 plate specifically for that cartridge. The #1 shellplate has ejection problems when using for that cartridge. But according to the chart at Cabelas it should have worked for .45. Store chart needs updating."

"I rate the Hornardy progressive AP reloader and its tooling as quality made. Cabela's and thier shipping got the equipment out to us fast, I liked thier stand behind everything attitude. Both Hornardy and Cabela's were ready to help with anything they could. The only detail that was a problem with my shell plate was I ordered the wrong one, Hornardy has a design change in thier new presses, the shell plates for the new presses have a grove cut in the bottom. I was not aware of this detail at the time I placed my order, I could had returned the shell plate to Cabela's and exchanged it. However being the recorceful Yankees we are... I just machined a grove into the shell plate and made it as the new type design. So thank you Cabela's, Hornardy, and UPS shipping you all made my son's birthday/christmass present on time and Fun!!!"

"Newer design for the newer presses. Mine is the old press, so the new pattern doesn't flow as smoothly as my tried and true plates. Reliable, just sometimes problematic during the ejection phase."

"What can I say other than Cabelas and Hornady our the best!!!
After searching for this shell plate for weeks and no one having it and projected dates of arrival months in the future I tried Cabelas and within a short time I had it, you just can not ask for better service than that, I thought I knew the best suppiers in the bussiness but I was wrong and Cabelas is in first place in my book, from now on if Cabelas has what I need I will purchase it from them, they are the best....
The shell plate is of the usual Hornady quality and craftmanship, almost all of my reloading equiptment is from Hornady, in my opinion their products can not be beat by anyone.

"I've been using the #1 shellplade for loading .45's for the versatility and had roughly a 50% fail to eject rate. This is with the new Lock N Load AP press with EZject system. I've since gotten the #45 shell plate and have not had a single problem. A must have for loading .45's"

"I ordered this plate after trying to load 45 ACP with shellplate #1 and was really excited when the press finally started to roll out rounds like it was built for producing. The # 45 plate works flawlessly on 45ACP. I ran 500 rounds so fast it surprised me. I would recommend the Hornady AP press and this plate for anyone loading 45 ACP."

"Shell plate works great. I have the newer model of the Lock n Load AP press with the EZ eject system. I have heard complaints about the ejection wire in the older models not ejecting the loaded round or sometimes flinging them accross the room. The new EZ eject system in conjuction with this shell plate work flawlessly. I have had no problems with a round not ejecting. The shell plate indexes smoothly on my press. I would recommend this to anyone, even someone new to reloading such as myself."
