"The recessed portion of the handle was considerably smaller than the diameter of the reel seat. This was a kit therefore they should have fit together. By the time I expanded the recessed area of the handle there was not enough material left to slide the reel seat into. Bottom line, it didn't work."

"I have used both of these handles on multiple rods. For the money, they are very good. Yes, they have stamped and not milled hoods and the metal isn't quite as thick as an REC seat, but you would be looking to spend at least $80 for a REC seat and grip that was nickel silver and had a burled hardwood. As someone who has ordered a lot of wood inserts online, I have come to expect the natural variation in color that comes with hardwood.....it is unreasonable to expect the wood to look close to the picture in color. When ordering online, call the vendor up and say I want something as red, or as brown, or as black or whatever you want, and often they will accomodate you."

"I ordered the fly handle kit with the maple reel seat. The fly handle kit did not meet my expectations. The metal and cork components of the kit were as expected. The wood component of the kit was of very poor quality. In fact, I ordered two kits and neither one contained wood components that resembled the advertised item. I would not recommend buying this fly rod handle kit due to the poor quality of the wood."
