"It’s a nice jacket because it packs into a little compact pouch. The best part is the visor on hood. Instead of having a big bulking hood, you have a nice visor hood that has a draw string on it to make it fit more snug. It is a nice fitting jacket, because it’s not big and bulky like other rain jackets."

"I debuted this jacket in the middle of a downpour here in Oklahoma. Had gone to the drugstore, just happened to have it in the car, brand new, and pulled it out as it began to pour just as I arrived. It kept me perfectly dry and I'm not talking about a little drizzle . . . a real genuine Oklahoma downpour! The little brim on the hood kept the water off my face and hair. I can't recommend this jacket enough. I purchased it for a trip to the Amazon rainforest because it is lightweight and very packable in its own pouch. That also serves you well if you live somewhere that features unplanned rainstorms as part of the weather package. Love this jacket!"

"So far I have found this thin waterproof jacket to be useful for walking my dogs and running around doing errands. I purchased a large, but it's not very form fitting for a female body, so it tends to look somewhat like a tent when I wear it. It does do the job, however, keeping me dry. I wish it had more venting slots available for muggier days.
It's very compressible, and you can easily travel with this."

"This rain jacket fits well and is size appropriate. Having managed a sporting goods store for 6 years, I checked out the garment pretty thoroughly. All of the seams are well taped for water-proofness, and the rubberized zipper enclosures on the pockets look as if they will keep their contents nice and dry. Not only is this good rain gear, but is working well as an outer layer in the winter, too. Being outdoors people, we are aware of the value of layering our clothing, and this garment will serve my lady well."

"I ordered the Dry Plus parka from the on line catalog, depending on the description to be accurate. The parka arrived in a timely manner, was the correct size and color. Since most of NM's rain falls in the summer, breathability is of prime importance. The parka is waterproof and while I still got hot wearing it in the summer rain I did not get sweaty like with other jackets. The Velcro closures and hood visor are nice touches."

Alaska in the rain and mist.,November 20, 2006

"For our 25th anniversary, my wife and I took a cruise and land tour to beautiful Alaska. When we left Vancouver it was in the 70s and sunny. By the time we visited the magnificient glaciers it was in the low 40s with a slight drizzle. Were it not for the Cabela's Women's Dry-Plus� Spectrum� Ultra Parka our trip would have been a washed-out mess. My wife was dry, warm and comfortable and never complained once. The salmon bake in the rain and the mist from the waterfall while watching the salmon spawn were truly appreciated because she was so dry. The real topper, however, came when we took the helicopter and landed on the glacier. Her fingers were quite chilly but she was warm and dry. We had a great laugh when I slipped and almost fell. I never expected this gift I gave her to be the most important piece of clothing on the whole trip, more so than the beautiful gown she wore on the formal nights as we celebrated our anniversary over and over again. Thank you, Cabela's!"

"This parka has not only been used for rainwear but a windbreaker and a outer coat with warm layers under it. Big secure pockets and the ability to 'stuff' it in a sack make this the best and msot versatile coat I have owned. Functionality is not the only thing I love. this parka is very nice liiking as well."
