"Tried this lure in Maine on Smallmouth Bass and they took it with a vengence. It also works well on large and smallmouth bass in Virginia and North Carolina. Great lure for the price."

"I have caught numerous bass with this popper. Best of all, even when I accidentally get my line over a branch, I just jig the popper from that position and have caught two nice bass. My friends are amazed that this technique worked. I plan on starting to use this technique on purpose. Awesome popper!!!"

"as mentioned by others this lure works well. GREAT action, pops well and moves just right after pop, resulting in some nice strikes.
As another mentioned the hooks are cheap and bend easily. They are sharper than my hula popper hooks but do bend. Easy to bend back in place though.
Have caught small bass to 4 pound bass on these 2 inch versions many days. You'll save yourself some trouble by ordering the 2 1/2 inch version if you are landing large bass regularly since the hooks are larger and set better thus reducing lost fish during the fight. These 2 inch versions give you the chance to land all sizes of bass and other species.
For the price compared to all other poppers listed at Cabelas - these are great for the weekend fisherman or novice to start out with. The action is just as good as the $7 to $15 ones sold here. If willing replace the hooks with a better brand."

"After purchasing the blue back popper, I tried it out the very next day. I caught four bass in a thirty minutes, all over three pounds. And the sight of seeing those bass come up from the depths and inhaling the lure was fun in itself. These lures catch fish."

"I have to say, I wasn't much of a top water fisherman. I toyed with it here and there with some minor success, but after using these lures, I'm hooked! My son got me more into top water bassing just last summer while in CT. He and I caught many bass in the 2 to 4 lb class, including quite a few rather large bluegills. I ordered the Fisherman Series just this year and gave them a try here in NJ. The weather has been horrible this spring but this lure managed to do what others could not. I caught quite a few pre-spawn bass and get this, one 3 lb rainbow trout!!! I highly recommend this lure to any one wanting to take bass....and....um....even a trout.... The big bow was a stocked trout here in Jersey, but it was sure nice to catch him....even if it was on a so called bass lure. Nice job Cabela's....keep 'em comin!!!"

"I love the eyes and the colors. I also love the chugging sound. This thing calls fish from a mile away. But the hooks are cheap. I missed one fish, bent the hook on another, and changed all the hooks on my Cabelas lures. Thats the only reason I didn't give these a 5.
