"Want some unexpected but exciting action? Try this lure on trout-both in lakes and rivers. I could not believe the action I got fishing this lure in the small lakes on our golf course last fall. Trout up to 7 lbs. hit this lure like they were starving. When I left the mid west, I thought my top water lure fishing had come to an end. On a whim, I decided to try the June Frog along the shore line of one of the ponds. First cast caught a 5 pound rainbow!! On average, 50% of the casts brought a strike. Only problem was hooking the trout with their smaller mouths."

"lost one last season in the weeds had to buy another this lil fellow catches 4 and 5 pounders like any expensive bait great price all colors work well hooks could be a lil bit stronger after a dozen or so fish you need to bend the hooks back into place and then they work fine"

"I read alot of reviews that say this lure has week hooks, but believe me i got one caught in my hand last year and it took alot to break the hooks so i could continue my day of fishing. But the lure is great excellent action, fish love it especially bass and pickeral. Only problem is hook size could go up one size and my hooks tangle with one another about ever 5-6 casts"

"This is my favorite topwater lure. Much better results than a jitterbug or torpedo. I caught my biggest small mouth on it 16" and my biggest rockbass on it 10". I have the firetiger color 031. never tried night fishing with it but very early morning with it is the best i like to be at the river between 6am and 7am. Oh yeah and a darn muskie 15" he had to the whole frog in his mouth tried to swallow in one bite had trouble removing it though. A definite must buy for am or late pm fishing only."

"I bought the kit with all the colors. I fished it at dusk in the weeds around a island in the upper Allegheny River. Caught 8 smallmouths. Lure has great action and never foul hooked. By the way, I changed the back hook to 1 size larger in red. Haven't lost a lip (yet)."

"I usually do not write reviews, but thought it would be good to see if others had the same experience. I caught one small bass on the frog and the lip came off. The good news, it attracted the fish. Was it luck or a good bait - I will never know. Really disappointed in the construction."

"Great action, the fish wont leave it alone from little bluegills to large pike. The problem is the hooks, to small and not very strong. Replace with larger hooks and this lure is all you need on that calm morning."

"I haven't caught any bass with this frog... yet. I've only fished it for about 30 min. on a morning when the bite was very very tough. To be fair, nothing was working for me. But, I was very impressed with the action, cast-ability, and consistency of this lure. Lures this inexpensive have a way of letting you down sometimes. I had a similar lure (an XPS Locust) that was constantly getting fouled and running upside down. This frog, however, rarely fouls and always rests properly (right side up) on the water.
This lure can be retrieved slowly and methodically because its action helps it move a lot, even when fished ultra-slow. A quick retrieve produces sputters and gurgles which are helpful when you need to get a bass' attention. You can even twitch it. It's versatile.
I fish a lot of topwater, especially during the Summer. I hate topwater lures that don't run true, sink, or constantly foul. This is NOT one of those lures. I'm confident that when the bite is on and conditions are right, this lure will produce."

"Again, another great Cabelas lure that works well in UK waters for Pike. The best time to use the June Frog is summer when water temperatures are very high, this means lots of Pike sunbathing in and around weedbeds! Cast your June Frog parallel with the bed then retrieve it slowly for best results. The action is a little strange but it does work! The lure will not dive - no matter how fast you retrieve it! Colours don't seem to matter too much - the fish seem to be attracted to the action! Go for whatever colour you think is the nicest - it will not make much difference to your catch rate. Another unique weapon for the UK lure anglers arsenal. The lure is well made with strongs hooks and a decent quality water vane."

"I received 2 june frogs (both fire-tiger) a few weeks ago and they have already been very successful lures. The lure provides excellent wobble motion and does not roll or dip. The quality of the lure really comes through when you experiment with different speeds of retrieval. Cabela's june frog can be retrieved at pretty any speed you would want, and at each speed it performs its tantalizing wobble.
I have been using this lure mostly in a pond, and I have caught bass, crappie, and bluegill all on this one lure. I have also tried this lure in a nearby creek with some very good success. I have been using 10# Cabela's pro-line (great stuff) and a ZX3000A/FEII combo.
I definitely would recommend getting this lure and even looking into getting the kit of these which is offered by Cabela's (I'm going to be looking into it myself)."
