"This is an excellent product, however it does not fit my trailer. I have a Pace American Cargo trailer, and the 4 way plug connector does not even fit in the box! It is good for the light duty cables on many trailers. Not worth returning, as the shipping and return shipping would be more than the product cost......Overall the product is well made a looks like good quality that will hold up to the weather."

"This is easy. No need to worry about the contacts of your trailer electric plug getting dirty or corroded as it dangles out in the harsh weather.
Two screws to mount it on the frame of the boat trailer, and it was done. When you unplug the trailer from the vehicle, open up the spring-loaded door on the unit, slip the plug inside, and your plug is protected."

"I just finished installing this guard on my 92 Shorelandr trailer. I live In WI and this year am wintering my shrink wrapped boat outside. This seems that it will protect my connection in all of our seasons, but was mostly interested in the moisture and freezing potential this time of year and how it affects the connection over time. It is not airtight, but will keep rain, snow and other weather from affecting my connector.
It was very easy to install. My only problem with installation was that the trailer metal was tough and though the screws had self tapping tips, I still had to pre-drill the holes. I don't think it is any issue with the product, just the durability of the trailer. This seems to be a great product, and should be a standard feature on any trailer, boat, utility, or otherwise!"

"A very tidy solution for the socket dangling off the trailer. The socket no longer ends up dragging through the sand and dirt, so its nice and clean for a positive hookup. Installation is so easy it doesn't bear mentioning, I wonder why I took so long to get this thing!"

"I received your 4 & 5-way PlugGuard earlier today (2-2-07), and it only took about 5 minutes to install it on my trailer. While the instructions didn't specifically indicate, it is understood that you need to drill 2 holes in order to mount the PlugGuard. What it also did not say is what size drill bit to use for the self-tapping screws, as you obviously do not want to drill them too large. To make sure, I drilled 1 hole with a 3/16 bit, but it was too small, so I re-drilled it with a 7/32 bit, and this is the exact size needed. Also, I slightly angled the PlugGuard housing to insure that any rain would run-off and not sit on the top (if level).
My 4-way male hitch wire fit nicely inside the housing unit, and the spring loaded flap keeps it securely within it."

"This is a good addition to any trailer. The installation took just a few minutes. It keeps the plug protected when the trailer is being stored. I live in the Northeast where the weather can get pretty nasty and every spring, I've had to take a wire brush to the pins on the trailer plugs; not anymore."
