Black Bass and Speckeled Trout,September 3, 2008
By sabrejockeyfrom S. La. live now on lake in Fl.
"As the title alludes I have caught both fish types standing in the same spot with a Sidewinder. I have used Sidewinders to fish speckeled trout, but occasionally I have been suprised to pick up a black bass or two while doing so. The most shocking thing that ever happened to me while fishing for speckeled trout with a Sidewinder, as I was reeling in the lure was near shore and jumped out of the water and landed about a foot up on the sand beach. As I started to take up the slack in the line a black bass came out of the water and down on the lure. A nice three pound bass! . I have fished Sidewinders for about sixty years and for many years thought they were not available any more. Thank you "Cabellas". I do not use Sidewinders for black bass while fishing near shore(weeds). I've picked up a few when trolling when I find them schooled up out in the center of a lake. My oldest fishing buddy and I agree that the Sidewinder is the most consistant lure in our tackle box."

The Jury Is Still Out,October 11, 2009
By fishingtexasfrom Little Elm, TX
"Hard to explain but when I'm fishing spoons and retrieving I put myself in a "be the lure" mindset. In other words, through feeling the action of the lure via the rod tip I visualize what the lure is doing underwater. With the Sidewinder I don't get any "feel" whatsoever, it's like flat, blah. When the lure gets close enough on the retrieve to where I can see it, it seems to have a pretty good action but I still can't "feel" it. Maybe I'll change my mind after I catch my first fish on it, which hasn't happened yet. This probably isn't a fair assessment because since I don't like the "feel" of it, I don't tie it on as often as I do other spoons."

side winders,September 23, 2008
By kiwitwofrom westchester N.Y.
"I have had the best results in catching both stripers and bluefish in long island sound since I started using small side winders for baby blue fish ( snappers ) over 40 years ago. I now use every size with great success."

Stripers can't resist!,September 2, 2008
By Bushmaster25from Coeburn, VA
"Well all I can say is that if you are a person that likes to fish for Stripers, then this is the spoon for you. They cannot resist it. The spoon produces a real radical side to side motion that imitates a shad. One of the best spoons that I have used. Among my favorite. Try one."

Good Spooon,June 30, 2008
By BRLodgemanfrom St. Louis, Mo
"We have been fishing the White River in AK for many years. With the excessive rain and high water, I needed a heavier lure than ususal. All the 16 of us use are artificials and this one worked well getting down to where the trout were during the 10 - 11 foot deep water that the river has been at for some time now."

Worked Well,June 18, 2007
By nodakcarperfrom North Dakota
"Worked well up in Canada for northern pike but it did not outperform the classic spoons I used. It is a killer on local trout however."

Sidewinder,December 7, 2006
By Virajfrom India
"Bought a couple of sidewinders and have used them sparingly fishing for Mahaseer viz. Heavy Water Freshwater Fish and have had no luck so far..
The action is light and I think I require more depth than what the sidewinder gives"
