BEST DARN HOOK EVER, January 27, 2008

"I spend most of my fishing time straight-line fishing over structure for the elusive Sheephead.
These guys run from one to fifteen pounds and are terrific fighters. Imagine a Bluegill on steroids - and angry! A six-pounder in 35 feet of water is a real thrill.
I shifted to circle hooks several years ago with everybody else. I've scanned every catalogue and website for my perfect hook. I've used Mustad, Owner, and just about everybody else looking for one which really gives me what I need. This VMC baby is the perfict one for me.
It's extra strong - a plus considering Sheephead will bite a light hook in half.
The coating reduces rust - I fish exclusively in salt water.
The point is devlishly sharp - I tend to leak at the fingers after snelling 25 or so to make sturdy leaders.
It seems silly to get so overworked about a simple hook, but that's just the point - it's not simple.
