"Gami's are the only hook I will ever use. They come sharper and stay sharper than any other hook on the market. I live for salmon and steelhead fishing in Washington and as any true fisherman knows you cant put a price on confidence in your gear. I have landed many 30+ pound kings on a red size 2 Gamakatsu octopus hook. They are super tough and with a Gami on the end of my line I have one less thing to worry about.

"I use the 3/0 and 4/0 Gamakatsu Octopus Hooks for fishing Kings and Coho off of the West Coast of Alaska. I have used them for several years. The hooks are and stay very sharp. They set well and I have never had one break. I have repeatedly landed 30 to 50 lb Kings. I change out hooks after a big fight and/or after a season. I really like these hooks and would recommend them to anyone.
You can get cheaper hooks, which I use to use, but after investing all the $ into a major fishing trip, why would you want the big one to get away because of a hook??
I use the red colour hooks. I do find that the colouring does come off in a big battle or with repeated use."
