"I fish NJ striped bass with these hooks - always in the lip, and all you have to do tighten the line after the first rap and then reel. I really love the fact that I don't hurt any fish as the oct-in line will not set in the guts after the fish swallows the clam. Amazing - tight lines."

"I like the gold color of the hook after the red wears off. I very rearly miss a hookup on a large fish. I use double 8/0's three inches apart and always hookup in the corner of the mouth. By the time you get the big fish to bite , you have spent a lot of money. Don't compromise on the price of the hook."

"USED THESE HOOKS ON THE OUTER BANKS,NC. THEY WORK WELL,CAUGHT A LOT OF FISH, HOWEVER THE RED COATING COMES OFF WITHIN 3-4 HOURS OF USE. NOTE: I WAS SURF FISHING AND HOOD ARE SUBJECT TO THE SAND ,WHICH MAY SPEED UP THE WEAR OF THE COATING."

"I've used the offset Gamakatsu circles for a few years with great results. I tried the 6/0 and 8/0 non-offset circles this year despite a reservation that the hook up ratio might drop off but if anything its better! Plus I've only had one gut-hooked fish on the inline circles all year.
Like all Gamakatsu saltwater hooks, they are very strong and stay sharp for many hook sets. In the larger sizes, these are perfect hooks for dropping bait to large striped bass or bluefish."
