"this jacket was a complete waste of money, its advertised as being waterproof, WELL ITS NOT!!!!!! ITS COMPLEATLY UNWATERPROOF, two minuites of light rain and i was soaked to the skin. the trourers are just as bad!"

"I guess we planned the wrong weekend for our fishing weekend on lake mile lacs, it rained all weekend, lucky that I stopped by Cabela's on the way to mil lac's and picked up some rain gear, not only that weekend, but I have enjoyed wearing it during the work days, one of the best purchases I made, fishing not really that good 3 keepers, 1smallmouth and 2 walley's RJSR"

"I wore the jacket and pants during my moose hunt in Maine in September this year. They kept me dry, were quiet and comfortable. It rained both mornings of my hunt. The moose dressed out at 770lbs with a 40" rack. I was satisfied."

"I was glad to see "1angryfisherman from AK"'s review, he summed it up. If you want to stay dry in a day long rain DON'T get this rain gear because you will be wet. There is nothing worse than relying on rain gear to keep you dry and it doesn't. We got lucky it didn't come in kid size because our son would have been wet to. Don't waste your money if you plan on being out in the rain."

"I wish i could have gotten the jacket in a tall size.The sleeves are long enough but the body could be a little longer. As for it being breathable, i wore it while out for a walk, the jacket didnt seem to dissipate my sweat at all. I havent worn it in a downpour yet so im not sure how waterproof it is.However the jacket looks great,i get compliments on it all the time.It seems to be well made.I like the large hood on it.I would say overall it is a good value for the money"

Fowl tech lays an egg,September 28, 2009

"I don't know what the other reviewers were wearing but I purchased the jacket and pants and wore them on a S.E Alaska Salmon fishing float trip. It rained all day and I was soaked, the hood absorbed water as did the cuffs, the lower parts of the pants soaked up water also. Although the main jacket part stayed dry, why would you make the hood and cuffs the least water proof?? I was so mad, my son who was wearing a 10 dollar rain coat stayed nice and dry. It seems that the hood and cuffs along with the lower portion of the pants were nylon and they acted just like sponges. My fault I guess, if it is not Goretex, it ain't water proof and that is the bottom line. The jacket works well as a wind breaker ( Nylon is why) and may keep you dry when it sprinkles, but anyone who needs to stay dry all day should think of spending more for a real jacket. The Alaska guides swear by Hellly Hansen Imperitech, our fishing guide recomended Rivers west. If I could I would ask for my money back but as I said earlier, my fault for going cheap and not getting goretex."

"This is what I've been looking for, a light-weight, waterproof breathable jacket. I used it in a heavy rainfall and it really kept me dry and comfortable, plus it's so light-weight that it can be packed up easily and put in a backpack and be ready to use just incase it starts raining. It just needed a small strap to keep the zip away from touching your throat which may be a bit irritating (this I will fix one), on the other hand...awesome!"

"I purchased the jacket and pants for my old man who is not an avid hunter. I took him turkey hunting(IA) for the first time and he stayed dry and warm the whole time. They will be really nice for him for fishing in the rain too. He really like both the pants and jacket. I notice that they are fairly noisy. I would not buy these for bow hunting. They will get the job done for any gun season though. If you are are looking for a decent set of camo and not wanting to break the bank, you can't go wrong. For us serious hunters, there are better garments out there if you are willing to spend the $."
