"I've used these jig heads with 4" Sassy Shad plastic minnows. The keeper section of the jig, behind the head, seems too large. It tears thru the soft plastic body after a couple of fish. It seems that the keeper section is too wide. If they could narrow it down, it might make the baits last longer. Also, it is necessary to poke a hole in the painted hook eye, which is a pain when in a hurry. Overall, its pretty good."

"Very good jig head for fishing soft plastics for walleyes. Works best with a little current and being pulled down drop offs. The head design matches the plastics I use very well and does a nice job of holding them on, too. I would prefer the flared gill look that some other jig heads have(and Cabelas used to have) but I can't find any with as strong of a hook as the Cabela's Heavy Duty Shad Head Jigheads. Great job on this style and bring back the old ones!!"

"While I normally do not jig for fish, this year the Lake Trout did not seem to want to chase spoons around. Since I do not like to still fish with live bait, I decided to try jigs. Around here, there is a shortage of HEAVY jig heads, and I ordered these. They WORKED, they got to the bottom fast, you could feel the jig on your rod, and they set the hook very well. I even used some Salt Water bodies on them to mimic the shad in our lake, and really caught some nice fish."
