"The most fun you can have fishin' with your clothes on! The fish will scare you to death they hit this thing so hard! Play with them. They hold paint well. Use acrylic model paint, customize them, add weight, and swap skirts. I think the colors with the red eyes work best. 4 stars=too light, easily fixed."

"I live in India and bought some of these frogs for snakehead fishing . I could have not opted for better . In my first trip I hooked two big ones and lost three because of my inexperience with how to set the hook . I thinks there are one the most effective top water frogs. I had never seen action like this before my friend who suggested these to me hooked and landed four big one on the same day with same set of frogs."

"I have been fishing frogs for a long time now, and have tried almost every one out there. I still though keep coming back to the ol' Scum Frog and now I stick to it. A few things you should be aware of though. Since its alot softer then other frogs, the hooks sometimes have a tendency to bury themselves in the hollow body on a hookset. If this happens, its good to repair it asap so you don't loose any more fish. Also the rubber skirt on the back is a perfect target for pans, and they will ofter rip off the rubber. Besides that, I have no problem hooking and bringing fish in. I prefer to fish this bait with a strong braided line and a low geared reel to winch the fish out of cover."

"This is a cheap lure if you are looking for great action! The only problem with them is if you're not carefull with the skirt, it may melt together, even with a melted skirt it gives it less action but the bass still devoure it! One night fishing this lure I bet i had 50 hits within an hour and a half! a must have!"

"hey ive been using texas rig and rapalas for all my life and this winter decided that i would pick to up and use these, well, last night me and my buddy were in a canoe and got way back in this thick stuff with the bass rats and did we have fun i dont know how many fish jumped at them, but all i can say is that i almost limited out i got three bass, 18,16,and14.25. in wiscosin."

"I usto hate fishing over trash and logs but fish go crazy for this one!! one time my line got caught up on a log and snapped when i was fshing in a small marsh and I was watching the scum frog floating there but within 2 minutes of me losing my frog 2 fish jumped at it trying to grab it and I never saw it again."

"For a budget priced frog these are good. The only negative is the body is made of a very thin and soft rubber which could get the frog snagged whilst retrieving past weeds. They also tear more easily."

"Early on, I avoided lily pads and other garbage to prevent my lures from getting hung up. What a mistake! With the Scum Frog, fish just LEAP out of the water to inhale this puppy. I've caught some major smallie, largemouth and pickerel with this lure. Tips: I do not use any additional weight with it on my 8lb flourocarbon line-do not use braid-it is too heavy. Throw it right in the middle of the junk and begin a twitchy retrieve-just like a real frog would behave and watch out! I wait a second before I set the hook. You may get a sort strike or two during the day, but don't worry-they'll be back-fish can't keep away. My only other tip is to shake out any water from the frog before every cast, and make sure the frog body is properly aligned in regards to the hook set and the skirt so that you'll maintain it's snagless action-especially after catching a fish.
Please practice catch and release-a 4 lb bass takes nearly ten years to grow. Thank you."

"These are a great all around top water frog for bass in the pads. They come through well and don't hang up. They cast well, but you can add a little something for weight like I do and they will really sail. Nice size when bass don't want the larger profile that some off the others offer. This has become my little go to frog."

"I've been using scum frogs for about 3 years and they never disappoint when the bucket mouths are hidden in the sloppy stuff and taking topwater presentations. A couple things to consider though - don't set the hook too fast and if you're fishing it right but still not getting hookups even though the strikes are there, try straightening the hook just 1/8" or less. Sometimes the hooks get hung up on the body of the frog. This fixes that problem. Tie one on and fire away."

"toss this either under a dock or by heavy weeds where frogs will hang out and hang on to your rod. if anything is hiding there, seems like they love to smack this bait around. i found it especially effective in a lake overtaken by algae. anytime this bait passed over a hole in the middle of a mass of algae, it would get smacked. i hooked the biggest bass of my life with this lure (about 22-24"), but unfortunately it bent my snap swivel out and took the bait with it. i have had some difficulty with hooksets, but i know its my own fault in most cases."
