"Fished this fly up on Lac Seul in Ontario. I would constantly outfish my dad while he was using his go to mepps spinner. So cool to see those Pike hit these flies. If you wanna catch pike on the fly this is where I would start!"

"I have been using Barry's R&W fly with great sucess in Saskatchewan fly fishing for pike. It produces by sight fly fishing as well as in the deeper waters. The Barry's R&W always produces the larger fish!"

As Good a Pike Lure as there is,July 15, 2007

"I fish a northern Michigan lake that has had no size limit on northern pike for six years running in an attempt to improve the perch and walleye population, because the pike had taken over the lake. So catching a pike on any given lure is no big deal and I have always had great luck using a 3/8 ounce Vibric roostertail or a Lindy spinner with a Slider twister tail. But this lure did as well as the above "can't miss" lures and this was the first time I had fly fished in my entire life. I even had to ask someone to show me how to tie a nail knot so I could get started. I was fishing from a 14 foot boat, and while repositioning the boat with my trolling motor I accidently, but routinely, caught northern pike defacto trolling this lure in the process. I know real fly fishermen are laughing at my ineptness but if I can catch fish after fish with this lure, you know it is a keeper. Note: I used a good quality 10 pound test leader and never lost a fish. The tapered leader that came with my rod and reel must be something one uses to catch smelt."
