BEST HOPPER I EVER FISHED,April 20, 2009
By CAMPCOMfrom NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND - PITTSBURG/ERROL N.H.
"EXCEEDINGLY LIFE-LIKE, WHEN FISHED ON STILL WATER, A SIMPLE TWITCH OF THE FLY WOULD TRIGGER A STRIKE. THE ONLY PROBLEM, AND ITS NOT ALTOGETHER AN UNPLEASANT ONE, IS THAT THEY GET CHEWED UP."

By McADAMSfrom AMARILLO, TX
"worked great as an indicator for my copper john dropper. I didn't get many bows to rise to it, but I think under the right conditions it's a good fly."

The most realistic and enduring hopper available,November 22, 2006
By CRSKfrom Anchorage, AK
"My dad and I go fishing for grayling in the mid fall every year in Alaska at our favorite lake. Over the years we've had great success with a couple of nymph's, but the fish would just hit in a normal fashion and then head for deeper water. This year, I decided to use the Grand Hopper (tan) because I've had some success with it on trout as well. Point blank, this was the best fishing decision I've every made. In about three hours I had litteraly lost count of the fish I caught on this one fly. The grayling were jumping out of the water, turning in the air, and striking at the hopper on their way back down. Seven or eight times, there were two fish going after the fly at once. Never have I seen such enthusiam from a fish. This fly pulled in the whole range of sizes too, everything from 8" to 15", which is about the biggest our lake has to offer, and it did it over and over again. After what I can only guess was about 50 hits - believe it or not this isn't an exageration - the fly was battered and bruised, but the fish were still going after it. I attribute this to its realistic appearance and performance on the water. Superior to any other kind of hopper I've used, the soft foam body floats consistently high in the water, so it doesn't get water-logged and sink. It also uses a different variation of the standard rubber legs that don't just poke out from the sides, but actually look and move like a live grasshopper. The body, legs, and wings are all extremely resilient and in my experience can survive a tremendous amount of fish-play. The one that caught all the grayling was finally lost to my last fish of the day, otherwise it'd still be on the end of my line. This is one of only three flies that I have ever recommended to my other fishing buddies, and a must for northern trout and grayling anglers."

Grand Hopper,November 21, 2006

"The Grand Hopper is the most realistic "hopper" I've seen out there. It floats well even in quick water and is built to last. Trout hit this fly agrresively and often."
