Technology and performance come together to make these rods some of the finest we've ever fished.
Combining the best features of our already established XML series with several modifications, they are
incredibly light, super sensitive and extremely durable. Nickel-titanium alloy Recoil® guides are
hard, yet flexible enough to endure multiple deformations, and always spring back to their original form.
They can be pushed completely flat against the blank with no adverse effects. Gone are the days of bent
and broken guides. The advantages don't stop there these guides are also four to five times lighter
than ceramic guides, more wear resistant and won't rust in any environment. The guides also resist
grooving and wear associated with today's braided lines. Since they flex with the rod, there are
absolutely no flat spots, providing a true arc when the rod is under strain. The blanks are our legendary
XML rod blanks which are 25% stronger than the originals but at the same time 10% lighter.
Crafted of ultra-high 64-million modulus-blended graphite using strength-enhancing Spiral Core
Technology and Generation III bonding resin, they feature an aesthetically elite-looking titanium gray
color that sets them apart from the competition. Reel seats eliminate exposed threads
when the reel is snugged up. Technique-specific models include our exposed blank reel seat to eliminate
weight and increase sensitivity. All rear grips have a composite cork butt cap.
We feel so confident in our rods that we make, in this day and age, a very unusual offer. We invite you
to field test any of our Cabela's rods for a period of 60 days. Compare them to any other rods
regardless of price. If you are not 100% satisfied, return them for a full refund, no questions asked.

Walleye jigging rod,September 19, 2009
By Wyohomeboyfrom Wyoming
"I had one of these rods pulled out of my boat while setting big planar boards. Don't ask me how, but I did have a very inexperienced crew on board. When i returned from the weekend trip, I immediately ordered a new one. This is the best rod for fishing light jigs I have ever used. It has better feeling for light pick-ups than anything I've used over the past forty years. The indestructible guides are also a huge bonus. Where has this rod been all my life?"

"The XMLTI rod are the best I have ever used. I have the 7' ML and the 5'6 UL. Both are very sensitive. The ML has all the backbone I need for heavier fishing and the UL is just simply the best trout rod I have ever used!"

Superb,July 30, 2009
By FixedBladeHunter
"I bought this rod on sale, and was a bit skeptical. However, it exceeded my expectations in every way -- feels extremely well made, with high quality components, and very well balanced. The titanium guides do take some getting used to; however, I think that they are actually superior when fighting large fish, as they flex with the rod. Managed to land an 8lb 11oz Rainbow that put up quite a battle -- the rod did its part flawlessly."

"Peerless, nothing compares. Lightest, most sensitive, and most versatile rods I've ever fished. And yes, you can actually bend the guides right down to the blank and they spring back!"

Just an ok rod,July 25, 2009
By venicealfrom Venice, Fl
"This is not a great rod. It is ok for the reduced price, but it should be even lower priced. I bought a two piece and you get a hard plastic travel cylinder and a vinyl pouch for protection. I will probably throw these items away as I am not that fussy about protecting a fishing rod. No telling how much I paid extra for this stuff even though it was not an option. I do not like the titanium guides. I use braided line and you get a lot of extra noise from the line dragging across the metal rings. I also think the metal rings look cheap. I would prefer ceramic rings which are a lot quieter and nicer looking. I have only used the rod for two trips and did catch a couple nice fish with it. I wish I had spent a few dollars more and bought a better Fenwick or St Croix."

great rod, bad reel seat,July 22, 2009
By 2atloweightfrom Hagerstown, Maryland
"I bought the 5'6" XML Ti for trout fishing in western Maryland. I was very satisfied with the rod; great sensitive coupled with good stiffness for an ultralight. The stiffness sets the hook quick and hard. However, after about the fourth trip with the rod, I noticed the rear, black ring for the back of the reel foot was crocked caused by a bad glue bond within the real seat. The rear of the handle can spin on its own. Cabela's is currently out of this model, but they're sending me the same rod in the XML series. I hope i'm not disappointed..."

very impressed,July 6, 2009
By 21farmsfrom the delta, CA
"i ordered the dropshot model. when it arrived, 1" of the tip was broken and when i put the rod back in the tube to send it back, i discovered why. whoever packed it stuffed a 6'9" rod into a 6'8" shipping tube! anyway, i called cabelas and they sent me out a replacement immediately. gotta love their customer service!
anyway, the rod is awesome. i've played around with some of the casting XMLti rods before and thought they were on the heavy side. however, this one definitely is not. i weighed it and it came in at exactly 4.0 ounces. that's even lighter than the the powell 702MLEF i was using for drop shotting before. the unusual-looking floating reel seat is actually quite comfy and the tips of two of my fingers actually rest right on the blank. the tip action is perfect for wiggling dropshot baits. i love the recoil guides. highly, highly recommended."

Great rod,June 27, 2009
By Canadadanfrom Ontario, Canada
"Bought the rod to replace a G. Loomis I used for vertical jigging and took it on a trip up to Horwood lake here in Ontario to try for some walleyes. It wasnt long before it became my favourite jiggin rod, the sensitivity enabled me to hook a large number of walleyes who were biting very lightly. I could fish all day with it and it felt comfortable. I found no issues with the line getting caught in the guides and I was using a fluoro leader with Power pro. An excellent rod for the money."

One you want to use,June 21, 2009
By Enjoysportsfrom Ma.
"I have been using this rod now for the last six weeks and have found it one of the best rods I have ever had. It casts further and with less effort than most rods out there and will easily "set" the lure/hook with just a small jerk. No need to yank on this pole to set the lure, just a small tug will do the trick.
I have been fishing mainly ponds and rivers with this pole. With just a flick of the wrist it will send a lure further and with more accuracy than with my old pole too. No need to "wind" up and heave a lure anymore, just a quick flick of the wrist will do it. And no more over-throwing to get distance either. As you know, a lot of the time when you do over-throw your reel will twist up. By using this pole with a good reel (I use the Pflueger President XT, a beautiful reel for anybody who is interested) there is no more twisting of the line.
I have been using mainly 4lb test with this rod/reel combination. With this light line I have caught fish as large as 7lbs. (Yes, I have a light drag to accomplish it) and the rod/reed combo has done the job with ease.
The only reason I gave it a 4-star rating instead of a 5-star is because I bought the 5'6" model which comes in two (2) pieces instead of one (1) piece pole. I would much prefer it being one piece pole but you would almost not know that you were using a 2 piece rod. The action of the rod is so sensitive that when reeling in your lure, you can feel the lures action so precisely that if you catch even the smallest amount of weed (even 1 small strand) you can feel the lures action change. So no more reeling in a lure with a strand or two of weed hanging on the lure that you never knew was there. No more wasting time reeling in a lure that has weeds hanging from it which no fish will bite on. So even though it is a two piece rod you would almost not know it because of it's percise action. Beautiful job Cabela's you created a great rod!!!
If you are interested in this rod by all means buy it, you will not be dissapointed."

love this rod,June 18, 2009
By augiedoggiefrom easton,pa.
"i was unsure if i would like this rod when i recieved it.when i shook it and whipped it around i thought its action would be too stiff, compared to my other rods with the same action.i figured i could return it or exchange it if i didnt like it,so who cares.i also bought a shimano symetre 2500 spinning reel at the same time,so i spooled it up with 8# trilene, tied a rusty 3/8 hex nut on the end of the line and went out in the back yard for testing.i found that my casts were precise and effortless, and this rod is a feather.fishing the rod that weekend ,i found that it only got better.i tried lots of light and heavy lures, caught fish and rod took a little getting used to for me.it casts a mile,so i had to adjust to the lighter casting effort, where i needed distance i just flick this thing, its super light and accurate casting.i love this rod.i"

Solid design,June 10, 2009
By CdnChris
"Solid design, with very nice quality line guides, slick handle set up for the reel to set into, and overall very nice fit and finish. I have this rod, with the classic style handle, paired with a Quantum Catalyst using a 12 lb test. So, its set up and ready to fish for walleye and bass. Nice quality rod for the price."
