Strong jig hooks,December 15, 2008

"I fish up in Manitoba,Canada for Greenback walleyes which can run up to 14 or 15 lbs. .When one of these larger walleyes is hooked in the roof of the mouth, which is all bone,the hook only penetrates a very small distance.When Im fighting a large fish with only the point of the hook holding, I want the strongest hook on my line, so that it doesnt straighten out, resulting in lost fish. I also like the longer shank as it goes further back into the bait,requiring less stinger hooks.Ive yet to have one of these O'Shaughnessy hooks fail me.Let me just say this;these jig hooks do hook and hold large walleyes and Im sure any other species.This comment is coming from an angler who has caught and released hundreds of Walleyes over 8 lbs"
