"When I saw the email asking me to review my recent purchase from Cabelas I thought, "Review plain old hooks?" However, then I thought "Well yes I could say something"
I live in the Republic of Panama and run a small charter outfit on Lake Gatun. As such. I literally buy hooks and split shot by the thousands all the time and a hand full of assorted lures here and there. I had been ordering things from Cabelas for over 20 years when I lived in the in the USA and now for about 5 years here in Panama. I have always found their prices, prompt delivery and customer service to be great. Since they started online purchases a number of years ago that too has always gone smoothly which is more than I can say for many vendors.
Oh, as for the hooks, I have found that Eagle Claw bronze hooks are extremely sharp and have served me as well if not better than any other of the more costly brands. I have no idea why but there are no Eagle Claw hooks sold here only Mustad or some really cheap no brand.
If you ever get to Panama and want to try some Peacock Bass fishing look me up."

"Used # 8 bronze eagle Claw plain shank hooks to catch large bream and shellcracker in a cypress pond. The water is very clear and the fish easily spooked. We caught 28 between 3/4 -1 lb in approx 8 hours using these hooks and live bait with low vis line."
