"Pro- the wiggle is strong giving your rod tip a steady rythmn. The lip appears to avoid snags when occasionally scraping bottom. The con to this is that even when bottom is scraped and debris gets on the lure the wobble continues so you don't know that you need to reel it up and clean it off. Also, while I've landed lots of fish, among all my Rapalas I've had more hits without hookups on this lure so I've swapped out all the hooks to VMC sure sets. The diving depth marked on the lip is very good but I cant seem to find any reference as to what speed is needed to achieve that depth. Still, all in all may be the very best deep diving trolling crank out there and a must for anyone who trolls very deep in the summer."

"I used the Deep Tail Dancer #5 for the first time in May 2008 just after ice-out on a man made lake in the Snake River system. Trolling near the shore line using the PURPLEDESCENT I hammered Brown Trout in the 3-7 pound range for two days. The strikes were awesome and I didn't need to set the hook. We caught 15 the first day and 16 the second day using this lure. I can't wait until ice-out in 2009 to use this lure again."

"Out of all the lures I have ever owned. used, and lost, this lure by far is the best trolling lure for walleye. trolling about 1.5-3.0 mph with 100 feet out gets down to a range of 24-28 feet with 12lb original stren. this lure used mainly by myself on Lake Francis Case, Lake Oahe, and Missouri river has led to great hits from post spawn to the walleye feed fest in mid october. this lure is tuned to a tee, and stays that way through many snags, and other hardships done to the lure, with few tuneups to keep it running true. the color that drives them 'eyes wild from time to time again for me is, PURPLEDESCENT! I dont know why but it strikes them well. plus the last kicker, front red hooks to draw the strike to the front for better hookups and helps inactive fish to strike at the blood color. for a wild guess, 35 percent of my walleye through my life have been from this lure."

"This is an excellent product. I purchase these lures primarily for walleye fishing. The lure runs at about 30 to 32 feet on stren 12lb. test line. I recently took a trip to Tennessee to walleye fish in center hill lake. I caught 12 walleye in three days with these lures. All the fish were over four pounds with the best one weighing in at eight pounds. I also use them for stripers in South Carolinas santee cooper lake system. I highly recommend them for trolling."

"Have used these in two recent trips to Lake Erie for walleye. These worked great. A guy who fishes Erie a lot for walleye recommended them to us when we met him while docking our boats. "Good crank bait. Rapala usually makes great products and this is one of those great products. This does run deep, Im guessing near the 20 feet they claim. Rapala now puts the depth on the lip similar to their Dives -To series so there is no guessing how deep will this go. The Deep Tail Dance bounces very well off of tree branches, logs, and rocks. Because of the big lip the hooks stay clear of getting snagged. Would I recommend this to a friend? I didnt need to all I needed was to let him try out and after a half dozen fish it was hard getting it back from him."

"This lure seems to run well when trolling with the current. I pull at approximately 3.6 - 3.8 mph and it adds the right amount of action on the rod tip when trolling for walleye, steelhead and salmon. Giving the right drag, I have not lost any fish at this time. Trolling with the current, the lure does not appear to touch the bottom unless you are in 15ft water. It appears to work well."
