poor performer,July 5, 2009

"I don't write about these things unless there's something that need to be put out there. This line is by far the worst performing line I've ever used. Hardly carries itself twenty five feet, let alone a dry fly. Spend a little more on a better line!"

cortland floating fly line,June 15, 2009

"this line is not very friendly to cast, hard to work with, it would be worth spending a little more $ and buy a better line."
"This is a great line. It was shipped quickly, and casts great. Going from a Level line, to a WF, made a significant difference in my casting distance, and fly turnover."

Good fly line for the money,May 19, 2007
By jrborenfrom Livingston, Montana
"This was probably one of the very first Cortland fly lines that I ever purchased. This was many years ago. If I remember correctly, I got about three years out of that 333 fly line before the finish started to crack real bad. I just cannot give this fly line 5 stars because it lacks the strength and suble nature of the Cortland 444's and 555's. None the less, I am highly recommending this fly line for a beginner or somebody that is on a tight budget. In addition, I prefer ALL fly lines that are in the WEIGHTED FORWARD configuration. Double taper lines are more economical (because you can turn them around, end for end) BUT a weighted forward line bucks the wind better and energizes heavier, weighted nymphs, for example."

good overall line,May 15, 2007

"I bought the 8 wt line for bass fishing. I have been casting a lot of deer hair mouse patterns and large poppers. The line performs well with these large patterns. I wanted a line that performed well and would not break the bank. That is exactly what this line does."
