"I bought these Sperry Top-Sider Gold Cup shoes about two months ago, and as others have noted, these shoes feel comfortable enough (right out of the box) to wear for extended periods of time and look elegant enough to wear in a semi-formal work environment, which I have already done on several occasions. In this case, the steep price reflects the high quality in every respect. I will eventually buy another pair, but don't anticipate needing to for quite a while. I feel they are great to buy for yourself, but also feel any wife/mother/girlfriend who purchased them as a gift, would make the recipient very happy. The presentation of the shoes (including the box, storage shammy, and other labeling included) all reflect the superior quality of these fine shoes so that when you open the box, you know right away you are holding some special shoes."

"On the plus: More than the boat shoes I expected. Most comfortable shoes I've ever had in my 58 years. I'm even wearing them to work. My significant other has given me more compliments on its sharp looks than on any other shoes I've recently purchased. On the down side: I've never liked leather shoelaces, I'm either going to get used to it soon or I'll change it to regular laces."

"I usually Sperry deck shoes with out socks with shorts. These Gold Cup shoes however are not deck shoes and are more dressed up casual look. I would not recommend them to replace deck shoes. They however very well made but a bit to glossy."

"These shoes are definitely a bit pricey but well worth it. They are comfortable from the very start when wearing socks but take a few weeks to feel good when wearing with bare feet. The inside lining is very soft and there are no sharp edges to create blisters or sore feet or arches. The sole is great on slippery decks, docks and even slick tile flooring. I am impressed and think you will be also."
