HD Trailer Dolly,June 23, 2009
By cabeladreamingfrom Gainesville, GA
"Sits too low to the ground. Leverage is almost impossible. Needs at least 6-8 inches more height and the control arm/handle at a tighter angle.
A waste of money! If I could have returned it I would have, but the box was gone before I used it."

HD trailer dolly,April 20, 2009
By BillieR
"... This may be rated for 600 lbs , which is typically 10-15% of a boat's weight, and it may move it very nicely on a perfectly FLAT surface
In moving a 2600 lb boat down a less than 2 degree incline , the momentum far exceeds the control ability of this dolly"

"the dolly works great. I have a narrow garage and had to try and push the boat and turn it all by hand. The dolly has made this job so easy and effortless that I am kicking myself for not getting it sooner."

Trailer Dolly,October 27, 2008
By Davefromindianafrom Central Indiana
"The Heavy Duty Trailer Dolly worked excellently. We have a 16 ft. Tacker trailer and Bass boat with a 50 hp Johnson outboard. I wondered if there would be a lot of pressure on the handle of the dolly but it was very easy to lift and roll around on our driveway. I should have purchased one years ago! Very pleased!"

not worth the money,September 11, 2008
By huntinpete
"I purchased the 300# trailer dolly thinking it would save my back (wrong). First, the instructions were not worth the paper it's printed on. Only half of the bolt holes were predrilled. The package of bolts that was included were not the right size, half were to short. Very hard to put air in the tires with plastic rims, not the white metal ones as pictured. The height of the ball (to low) made it difficult to use the jack. Had to fold the jack up in order for the hitch to rest on the ball. That was fun!! When tightening the bolts, the metal frame bent to easy. The quality is just not there, and its going back. All of the years shopping at cabelas this was the first piece of junk that I purchased from them."

Exactly what I needed,August 20, 2008
By Coastiegig5from Bremerton, WA
"Great Product. Exactly what I needed to maneuver my trailer up and down my narrow driveway. The only thing is that the instructions were difficult to follow and didn't seem to reflect the model that I had purchased. Although the product claims to be able to handle 600lb tongue weight, It seems strainded with the 150lb tongue weight of my trailer. I wouldn't want to use it on anything much larger. I don't know just how "Heavy Duty" it really is."

Back Saver!!,August 18, 2008

"This product is sensational. It allows me to move a utility trailer without extra help. Wonderful, because I am a 50 year old woman who's husband has heart problems and can't lift heavy objects. I would recommend this dolly to anyone who needs a hand with moving a boat or trailer."

"Once it got installed it worked quite well. There are no instructions to show how to install the device. The dolly even worked o.k. in sand. However, it really needs two people to use comfortably."

It works,June 29, 2008
By MunsterINfrom Munster, In
"While this works very well moving my 19 ft boat around, it needs to have the ball higher - or the wheels bigger - or the handle higher. The way it is set up, you have to crank the hitch receiver all the way down. The handle, when hooked up, is below waist level. If the handle were chest high - you could get more power for pushing. Moving my boat into the garage is now a one-man job. The tires make all the difference and makes it easy to push on uneven or bumpy surface and slight upgrade. Despite it's short comings, it's worth the money in my opinion."

Movin' it easy,June 9, 2008
By Daisy149689from Wellston, MI
"Got the product in very timely fashion as usual from Cabelas. Quality and appearance are as expected and after simple assembly used it to move my 1800# boat/motor with ease. My space is too confined to allow easy maneuver with the tow vehicle and the trailer is well balanced and moves easily on concrete surface. Could have been 5 star if the unit was taller. Did a bit of after market engineering to raise the ball height about 5" and it does a super job. Easy to maneuver in and out around pole barn. A good purchase."

Works for me.,June 1, 2008
By Buck501from Edwardsville, IL
"Finally got a chance to use mine when the weather warmed up and the yard dried out. This works fine for moving my fishing boat out of my yard and into the garage. Saves my back. I fish mainly 10 hp. limit lakes in Southern Illinois. My boat is a 14 foot jon with the usual seats, trolling motor, etc. I don't leave the motor on it outside, so the boat and trailer aren't that heavy. I could see where a larger boat and motor might make things more difficult. For a heavier application you might want to consider the heavy duty version. For what I use it for it works great and makes maneuvering my trailer no big deal."

Cabelas Heavy Duty Trailer Dolly,May 24, 2008
By FishingInFaithfrom Eastern PA
"This is the best tool I have ever purchased. Makes moving the boat in and out of garage to work on or hook up to trailer a breeze. After a long day fishing, I don't need to back into the garage in the dark, just pull in, unhook from the car and wheel my boat right away. Fantastic product for any trailer!"

A great idea, but could use a couple of upgrades.,May 14, 2008
By mjbuckfrom Michigan
"I purchased the 300 pound capacity dolly. First of all, the directions were of nearly no use at all. Had to put it together by trial an error. If your tires are flat when you receive it (as mine were), make sure you inflate them BEFORE you put them on the axle. The large washer makes it impossible to reach the valve. It's hard enough to get at them as it is, but once the large washer is on and the tire in on the axle, forget it. I was able to move my small trailer with ease and even my wife commented on how handy and how much of a back saver this dolly will be. My 18' boat was a little different matter. It is difficult to get the boat in motion, but once you do, it rolled easily and will eventually save my back some work. One thing I found strange is why the ball is not higher, which would enable you to drop the trailer tongue onto the ball and yet keep the trailer jack in the down position. I had to put the dolly in place, lower the trailer jack until the tongue rested on the dolly hitch and then swivel my jack up in the lock position. If they made the hitch a little higher, you wouldn't have to do that. Plus my trailer jack was bottomed out and I had to do some lifting to get the trailer off the dolly ball. Someone else made mention of this. All in all, this is built solid and will do the trick, although it could use a few changes."

cabela's heavy duty trailer dolly,May 6, 2008
By will923from sand lake, NY
"having a short, wide driveway and living on a narrow road, i frequently had to uncouple my trailers on the pavement and push them into the driveway by hand, as there was not a lot of room to maneuver, it being necessary to cram a pickup truck, an suv, a trailer with a 17 foot bass boat, and a utility trailer all in the same driveway. this trailer dolly has made parking my trailers practically effortless. i just unhook the trailer, put it on the dolly, and steer it into the parking spot. it's amazing how easy it is to move a fully loaded trailer. a wonderful invention!"
