"Received my trolling plate a short time after it was put on Back Order. (They must be very popular!) Was easy to install and have used it a number of times and works GREAT. I have a 75 hp outboard and using the plate slows the boat down to about one to one and a half miles per hour. Have not forgotten to raise it before heading back to the dock, BUT nice to know that the way its made, that it will not bend or break if I was to forget to put it in the raised position. This is the one to buy and not one of the plastic types. Thanks Cabela's"

"Took 10 minutes to install. After installation was complete, the first thing I did was cut a notch at the 45 degree angle. It is mounted on my 50 Merc and at the full 90 degrees, the motor has to be accelerated and at the 45 degree angle, it is just above idle.So many other reviews mentioned this and they were right. Spoke with other fishermen who installed (more than one) of the plastic trolling plates. I couldn't be happier with mine. Great product. User friendly."

"i am very pleased with the trollong plate. it is very well made and works well. i to cut a extra notch to make it stay at a forty five degree angle. only because you do have to reeve up some to get it to move when its all the way down. i ;have a 50 horse merc and i can get to go slow enough to jig. witch is pretty slow. it takes alittle getting used to putting it up and down. i have a 15 horse kicker motor that i was trying to replace with the trolling plate. it works very well and no more second motor. simpler is better."

"The bracket of the trolling plate didn't fit around the cavitation plate of my motor, a Johnson 115 hp., I guess I could have mounted it on the top of my plate, but thought it would look out of place. The EasyTroller is designed to fit on top of or underneath the motor’s cavitation plate. About two thirds of actual installations are on top of the cavitation plate.

"Best thing since sliced bread. It`s so easy to instal. I run a 90hp yamaha 4 stroke i went from 2.3 mph to 0.8 mph. i also modified it and put a notch in the middle to keep it down on a 45 degree angle and that gets me to troll at 1.3 mph."

"This plate works very well slowing my boat to 1.2 mph. Steering response is also very good. Installation on my 115 Yamaha 4 stroke was more difficult than expected as I had to grind a small area from the cavitation plate in order to have the trolling plate at a reasonable distance from the prop."

"I needed to slow my boat down from 3.1 mph, the slowest I could get without the plate, to between 2.5 and 2.9 mph, which speed is what I consider the optimum for trolling Lake Michigan for salmon and trout. This plate has more than exceeded my expectations. I particularly like the spring break in the plate which takes the pressure off the outdrive, and also does not bend the plate when not in use and underway."

"I bought a 50 horsepower ETec tiller in 07. Put the easytroller on before I went to Canada. Worked awsome! Was able to get the speed down to a crawl. May have to put another notch in it so I don't have to give it so much throttle to get the speed that I want. I don't know about other motors, but with my ETec, I had to drill through my trim fin disk under the cavtation plate, so make sure that you have that where you want it prior to drilling. Which didn't thrill me, but other than that the product is great."
