Price to product UNBEATABLE,October 12, 2009
By Dcast93from West Monroe NY
"Well I recieved the 8 weight 9 foot 4 piece rod for Christmas two years ago and it has proven itself time and time again. At first, due to price I was suspeciouse, but remembered the Sage brand and what they stand for. I have used this rod for two years non-stop for everything from bass, steelhead, and salmon to bonefish, and stripers. No matter the condition this rod preforms and never dissapoints. My recomendation to you is to buy one, for the original price they were good but now they are on sale, you can't go wrong."

Great Rod, Great Price,April 30, 2009
By jsloofrom Somewhere, California
"I didn't know what to expect out of a rod that promised to deliver so much but had a very reasonable price tag. I haven't been disappointed a bit. I found the action to be very responsive and think you would be hard pressed to find a more sensitive rod in this price range. In a sport that makes spending $1,000 an easy task this was a great buy."

A rod not to be underestimated!,February 28, 2009
By scandimanfrom Wenatchee, Wa
"I myself am not a huge SAGE hound....Having said that; this is only because of their lack of any real colors in their rod blank choices! Now they finaly have a few blue rods.... The (LAUNCH) rod that I receved was perfect.... Even though it was still a shade of brown, it was verry pretty to say the least! I took it to Rocky Ford Creek hatchery, and found this rod to be quite suited for all forms of spey casting single handed.... In short; pick one up, I think you'll be overly pleased! It shood also be noted that this rod offers real wood inserts aswell as genuine Portiguise cork and hard nickle reel seat...."

9' 5 wt Launch,November 8, 2008
By WordUpfrom VA
"I bought this rod in the spring after casting it at a local store. It casts great, it's extremely easy to make LONG accurate casts with. I've caught everything from 6" brookies to a 15 lb flathead cat on it. It is very heavy for a 5 wt so I don't fish it as much as I used to."

Sage Launch Fly Rod,August 5, 2008
By bigTcoloradofrom Loveland, Colorado
"I bought the 4-weight, 9 foot, 4-piece Sage Launch to replace another small river trout rod that had broken. Like most folks, I had always wanted a Sage rod, but couldn't justify the price tag. The Launch series is pretty reasonably priced, however, so thought I'd give it a try. I've been happy with its performance and casting characteristics and would recommend it as an entry level rod comparable to similarly priced rods by other manufacturers, no better and no worse."

Launch 4-weight,June 24, 2008
By SWStevefrom SouthWest Colorado
"Great rod for the money. I prefer a 4-weight for rivers and creeks and this 4-piece will be seeing alot of water this summer and fall. I got it mainly for backpacking high mountain creeks but with the price of gas, I will also be fishing the local river more by bicycle (I'll park the bike wise-acres!) and this 4-piece will stow away nicely! I fished this rod before run-off and it has a nice medium-slow action...very smooth and fish feel great on it!"

Smooth casting rod,May 29, 2008
By illiniron2from Illinois
"I purchased a 5wt-8'6" Launch a while back and very impressed with the light weight and delicate touch it has. The rod loads extremely well, and has enough backbone to give a excellent hookset. I have fished all day with this rod and felt no fatigue. Wish I would have bought this as my first rod instead of the broomstick I bought."

Sage Launch Fly Rod,May 27, 2008
By Lomicfrom Novice fly fisherman, avid bass fisherman in MD
"The 5 weight Sage Launch is a great flyrod for fishing the small trout streams in the mountains of Western Maryland. It is a bit "faster" than I thought it would be from the manufacturer's descriptions, but easy to cast and it really likes a lot of line. I am a novice, but was able to get up to speed quickly. Long accurate cast are easier than anticipated. I believe is the ideal weight for the native Brookies, Browns, and Rainbows that are in the area of the country. Looking forward to using it for Smallmouth Bass on the North Branch of the Potomac next."

Excellent rod,April 9, 2008
By WoodyNCfrom Mountains of N.C.
"I bought this rod in a 9 foot 5 wt 4 piece. I fish mtn streams in NC, and use it to throw all sizes of streamers, nymphs with droppers, and drys. I was casting better with this rod after a day in the creek than I had after a year of using my other rod. I am extremely impressed with it's performance. Great balance, and all day throwing comfort. I drag fish out of Mountain Laurel overhangs, and browns out of log jambs and blow downs. Great backbone, yet sensitive enough to feel the rod load on a cast. I've caught everything from finger length natives to a 26 inch brown on it. If somethng happened to mine tomorrow, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Launch."

Great Starter Rod,March 26, 2008
By Dave81from Roseburg, OR
"I am new to fly fishing, literally only been out a few times now. I inheritted a couple vintage rods, tried those out, and tried out a couple cheap outfits. These rods were difficult to cast and after while got tiresome. I decided I was not giving up and picked this up with a eastfork g-loomis reel. For a 5 weight setup I'm barely pushing 8oz's total and this thing is SO much easier to learn casting on. Big thumbs up to Sage for making a high end product affordable. 5 Stars"

Launch 3 Weight 7'6" 2 piece,March 10, 2008
By OzHeppyfrom Melbourne Australia
"Exceeded my expectations. Ideal for small creeks and delicate presentations yet can handle breezy conditions. Matched with a SA GPX line it showed great versatility with short and long casts. The rod is light and well balanced, ...quality Sage. I have a couple of Sage 4 piece rods and this 2 piece has reinforced the 'smooth full action' you feel that a 2 piece provides. Would have loved one in 7 feet for working in tight bushy conditions but this is a gem."

Sweet Rod,October 27, 2007
By Submissionfrom NJ
"This is a very nice rod , I have own my now for almost 2 yrs and it still in great shape . I have the 9' 5wt 2 pc . Being that Im new to fly fishing , I tried a few other cheeper rods and this one blows them away , I can actually feel the rod loading when casting and helps me sense the what I call the sweet spot for shooting the line. Plus it came with a nice hard shell tubular case ."

Great all day rod!,October 4, 2007
By IHateNoisyReels
"I just spent a week fishing this rod for 10 hours a day in Colorado. I have the 4 piece 5 wt, and it was a dream to cast. Fast enough for the really windy times, but not too stiff for delicate presentations. The rod was light and well balanced, so I was happy while others may have been complaining about casting all day. I'll be buying this rod in a few other weights soon."

A Nice Rod,June 22, 2007
By Lucias257from Lansing, MI
"This rod looks great and performs well for the purpose that I was looking for. There are so many fast rods out there and I have some. I was looking for something a little softer for some delicate casts to spooky steelhead on a particular slower moving river. I decided on the 6wt since it has a the usual Sage lifetime warranty. This rod has done exactly what I was looking for. I am hooking up when others are saying the fish are spooky and uncatchable. The 6wt has held to to some wonderful fighting steelhead. The softness of the rod allows me to confidently use lighter tippet. I am regularly releasing fish on 5 & 6x when I am hearing that the fish can be landed on anything less than 3x. I believe some of the fisherman that have helped by netting a fish for me have gone out and purchased a Launch. I am a Sage fan and the Launch will not dissapoint."

GRAB NOW ....!!,May 19, 2007
By jrborenfrom Livingston, Montana
"This "Launch" series of fly rods is a fairly new rod from Sage. I went to purchase one of these last year, but supplies got sold out very quickly. If Cabela's still has some of these in stock, you had best NOT hesitate. This is another VALUE rod that is on my personal list. Alot of folks don't know this, but the SAGE ROD Company got it's roots from FENWICK. That's another story however. I don't personally own this rod, but recently I had the pleasure of casting one of these that a friend of mine owns. This is really a SWEET fly rod with a very, very classy straw brown finish. I'm jealous already :-O)"
