Works as advertised!,July 28, 2009

"I fish from a dock that experiences tidal changes of up to 7ft. The net works great, easy to extend, and can handle some pretty large fish. Definetly would recommend to anyone."

Frabill Tru-Trax is also Too Heavy,July 14, 2009
By TroutmanKenfrom Central Oregon
"I have a small Frabill net with the plastic "netting". It is great in that hooks and lures do not get tangled in the netting and the overall quality is excellent. However, the plastic netting simply adds too much weight to the net to be used one-handed while landing a fish. If you always have an extra person with you....go for it.
I have contacted both Frabill and Cabela's and suggested they add an overall weight to their discription.

Frabill Tru-Trax Nets with Telescoping Handle,February 24, 2009
By Ponchofrom San Luis Obispo, CA
"The rubberized net is a great idea. I would prefer to go with the clear or "ghost" rubber rather than the black as I think trout would be less agitated by something less visible coming up from beneath them. Of course, if you intend to eat the trout it wouldn't much matter; but, if you believe in releasing your trout friend as I do, you might want to make the experience as calming as possible. My only reservation has to do with the way the basket connects to the telescoping handle. It is kept from turning solely by the depressible button that holds the basket on the handle. An octagonal connection where they come together as well as the button to keep it from slipping off would provide more stability."

"Arrived as promised - fully extendable, great for those piers/docks with a long drop to the water. Fairly light in weight for its length."

Less solid than expected,April 24, 2007
By atothepfrom Bellingham, WA
"I haven't had this net long enough to break it but I'm confident it will happen soon on a large fish. Even with the large model I bought, the connection between the net frame and the handle seems shoddy. There is noticable play even when the net and handle are locked together. The fact the two can be separated is a nice feature but it shouldn't come at the cost of a solid feel. I'm very concerned that a large fish in the basket will break the net at the connection when I go to lift it into the boat. I would have returned this but I didn't want to pay the high price of shipping such an awkward item back."

Frabill Rubber net and handle.,April 16, 2007
By danjacsfrom Groton, VT
"I ordered this net because the handle was adjustable for the length I needed. The rubber net was extremely heavy and hard to use. The handle is great! I ended up ordering another net for the handle and I am completely satisfied with the setup now. The net is large enough for pike and small enough for smallmouths."

Stay away from the net,November 21, 2006
By Sheepherder1from Angier, North Carolina
"The Frabill Tru-trax Net in large size was too much net for our purposes. We were catching 4-7 pound sheepshead and black drum and needed an extending handle on our landing net because at low-tide we could barely reach the fish from the concrete bridge pilings. We ended up changing out the net, which was "way too big" and spooked the fish, plus it caused excessive drag in the water and we couldn't move it fast enough, causing us to work too hard to land the sheepsheads.
Once we switched the head with an older, cheaper landing net, approximately 24" wide and circular in shape, we had a much easier time handling the net and landing the fish. The price on this net is too much to pay for just an extending handle, which is all we used it for in the long run. I would suggest to the manufacturer to offer just the extending handle and to offer smaller, round nets with this great extending handle for those who have to reach to land their fish."
